HI all, can't believe, I can't find the answer in the manual but after setting up a gyro, I got looking a the main screen on the JR 12x, and do not know what the upper trim graft does, with 12 and 16,see pic.
Anyone know.

it's the eyebrow trims, if they aren't assigned to something they do nothing but beep as you bump them

HI, thanks, it's funny, how they ended up with 12 and 16, when they have never been assigned.
Thanks Rcpete

As Bob stated, it is a position away from center.

Also these trimmers can be used as momentary function or as selectable function on any 12X. If you purchased your 12X when they first came out and have never sent it in you will not have the momentary function and it needs to come back to Horizon for a firmware update. Only necessary if you want it.

There is an addendum regarding this here. http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/JR_1...l_Addendum.pdf

You can check the addendum and then check screen 83 to see if you have the updates firmware.

Thanks Bob and John, my 12x was upgraded, and great to see this extra function.
So I have learned , this ear switch, can be used for a trainer switch, a on/off switch.
So back to my originall question, the screen with 12/16 ?, and how do i 0 it, where in the manual, is it explained.

Pete

You should just be able to drive them back to 0...

Pete,
You can also turn them off completely so if you do hit them they will not move from center. I have assigned the right momentary switch as my timer start button after i have inhibited the switch.

you can make them momentary buttons under trim system, either on or off, but they can be run out either direction whether set to momentary or not. they cannot be disabled that I have found.

sure they can, under Trim code set flap and aux trim steps to 0 and they won't move.

Or you can go to the two columns on the right of the flap and aux trim and turn them from on to off and they will not move at all.

never needed to disable them, I love those things, one is for my timer and the other for misc. functions that I use on a few planes. maybe I should read the instructions once in a while.

Instructions are just the manufacturers suggested way you use it, they aren't mandatory.
