Hi Eddie, The pegboard really helps. Prior to it, I had stuff in bins and drawers and boxes ..... and really didn't know what I had. At times, I was re-buying stuff I already had .... because I didn't know I already had it......
I had the cores cut By Mr. Koster, the contact on Norberts web site. They are very well done. That's why I am sheeting with only 1/32 balsa (I don't expect to have to do much sanding).

Excellent, that should save you some weight too. I put some time into uploading information into some drawing programs and sent my foam core information to a domestic foam cutter and I'm hopeful all will turn out well. I did change some data for my own purposes - airfoils, some minor dimensions. I should be shop ready in another week or two, then I'll start building some big parts finally.

Remember sometime ago I mentioned getting Rouch DC10, we'll it has happened and it's part of a bigger project under way. I'm not able to post it's pictures on here from my S4 but will do tonight. It's amazing how big these models are, one really have to be in person with these to appreciate there size. Presently contemplating How to power it, by edfs or through single turbine in number 2 nacelle.

congrats Sammy, big project indeed.
Keep in mind the stab angle is incorrect (from the picture anyway, incidence as well as dihedral I think)
These have to be re-done with the proper alignment.

Yes you are 100% right, incidence is out big time on the stabs and slight too much dihedral also. I noticed it as first flaw in this build.
This and placements of both inner flaps is out, they are bit too far apart and are directly behind engines thrust flow lines. I am trying to establish contact with the builder and see if he could recommend how angles of the stabs could be fixed as they are mounted on square CF tubes.
What servos, landing gears and turbine engine would you recommend for this model...

Well guys, Tonight I found a slot made on underside of the centre wing section and dry fitted engine 1's nacelle to see it's placement on this model and then compared with actual drawings of the Douglas DC10. What do you think?

Doc, I know what you are saying and mean but after consulting the wing issue with Norbert and what he said and recommended have made it vital to fix it. Model will fly well as is with CG moved a lot forward then where it should be and with a lot more weight in the nose!. He knows this model very well and it's history. It was initially sold to original builder back in 1980!, so it's been around for long time and from what it sounded this is the only Rouch DC10 in Canada. I do intend to fix other issues with it so I might as well do this also and make it right.
What happened here, whoever made the foamcores also added flat wingbox section in the center of inboard wing panels making it bigger in wingspan, this made fuselage look small in front of the wing. Rouch models don't have flat wingbox between both inner wing sections, so basically if I take that out, wing span will become 117" from 136" presently. Also wing root at the side of the fuselage should be 29". This way fuselage will look right and weight of the model will be cut down from present weight, whatever it is. Then to make it DC10-30, small wing sections on wingtips will be added so wingspan will become 124" tip to tip.
I know 99% of the people will not know or care but being a scale guy myself, it will always bother me. So let's see what I decide, I may even leave it asis.

Custom made aluminium 1/4" x 8" jack screw made to pivot horizontal stabilizer for take off and landing configurations through 3 position switch on the TX. This a mod that I wanted to do after fixing it's issues, so starting to think ahead for this build. (Curtsey of my friend M. Emillio)

I been away from this thread due to communication with NR and making correction on the wings of this model. If wing was left as is, there was going to be a weight and balance issues with it, CG moved forward and lots of weight in the nose was required to balance it making airplane heavier then it should be plus there would have been more pressure of the elevators needing super high torque servos!...so to eliminate all that chaos, I elected to cut away the flat section in-between both inner wings and fairing up the wing saddle with foam blocks now I have made from this one big foam piece.
After doing all the cutting, I noticed that airfoils on the root are more symmetrical type Vs Clark Y or semi-symmetrical that is used mainly of airliner models. I consulted this with NR and he said, they are his airfoils which are more closer to scale airfoils then Clark Y would ever be, he said, on his MD11 model, he used inverted airfoil at the root which is almost scale and his and other MD11 models fly really well. So from here onwards I have learned one new thing, that is:Using closer to scale airfoils on models this size and bigger is the way to build them, Clark Y or semi symmetrical is goof for small foamy airliner models but not for models of these scale and sizes. NR also said the same.

Just did dihedral angle check on the wing, it's +5 degrees and NR drawing calls for +3 degrees, so it's close enough NOT to change it as the airplane will fly more stable with couple extra degrees added on dihedral angle. Tonight I will try to join these inner wing sections together by keeping present spars and integrating them into this modified wing section.

After more communication with NR, it was determined to cut the spars at the time, joint both inner wings together and add spars at later stage. Spars were cut, both inner wings dry mated together to see how they look, some sanding and facing was needed to flatten both inner root ribs to perfectly attach to each other.

Well guys newly modified wing is now fully assembled with outer wings mounted with inner wings and both engine pylons and nacelles dry fitted on the correct position. I really liked using BVM Vpoxy especially with self mixing nozzles that comes with starter kits. Glue itself is really nice to work with.

After successfully building several Rauch airliners Adi Pitz has now created his first scratchbuild airliner, a Boeing 747 (four Jetcat 120, dry weight 59.4 kg).
This giant plane (1/13th scale) will be one of the highlights of the 2015 airliner meeting on July 10-12, 2015.

After successfully building several Rauch airliners Adi Pitz has now created his first scratchbuild airliner, a Boeing 747 (four Jetcat 120, dry weight 59.4 kg).
This giant plane (1/13th scale) will be one of the highlights of the 2015 airliner meeting on July 12-15.

Thanks for following his posts regarding his beautiful B744 model. I was wondering if his airframe is built up or foam structure. Plus that site made Adi's airliner section, so I'm sure we'll see model from him.
