( Update) Again I had the privilege to visit this fine club..time flies, another year has come and again I had a great time there. It was cool to find more and better jets this year than last.. in fact this weekend the 14 bis club had a record of 6 jets there, and also for the first time in the club history, turbine jets outnumbered the prop jobs and helicopters! Great flights from all, with gorgeous warm weather, and great company.

Took the A4 for more test flights there it flew very well and I feel a lot more confidence on it now .. however, as nothing is perfect, for some reason it developed an a air leak in the air system, but this is a non-issue with this plane. At the middle of the flights, the gear lowered due to the airleak and as the landing legs rotate forward, the air pressure on the gear makes it lock in position for landing..
I didn´t cared to fix it there, as I only had saturday to fly and enjoy the chats with Jose, Achilles, Flavio, Oscar, and all the gang. Biggest issue was lack of air for the wheel brakes, but as the club has a long runway, this wasn´t a issue at all too.
A interesting note about the full size A4 skyhawk is that Ed Heinemann designed the A4 gear thinking in this problem, so the plane could extend and lock the landing gear using the forward motion of the plane without needing to carry the weight of a redundant actuator.. this guy was indeed a master aircraft designer.

Weather was gorgeous.. sunny, no wind, the IMAC guys also had a great day for training to a upcoming competition and at sunset a warm breeze and everybody very happy about a great day of flying. At night, the place is stupendous for star glazing, however as we where already late for dinner at Achilles, I couldn´t stay more there.. this place is awesome. Also a great club idea I found along with the usual Jose´s coffe machine is a refrigerated water carbon distilator...

And what else can say about Jose and Achilles, two long time friends from RCU ? nothing but the absolute best... this guys are fantastic, and also have a deep passion for jets and aviation that they enjoy to share .. the 14 BIS club members are also the finest people you can find around, and this visit was again very refreshing for "charging our batteries" for tackling life again life in monday. Hope to be able to get there again as soon as possible! Thank you very much Jose and Achilles and all 14 bis club members for the great time I spent there in 2014.

Hi Jose, thanks for the new invitation! Can´t take the A4 again to SJRP .. received a call from Hugo Bustos from Argentina, asking that I must fly it in his event ,,
better to ground it until october, so I can guarantee my promise.!!!
Instead, I guess that you will enjoy the flight of this one too:

Thanks Jose, but this is far from being a new model..its one of the first F-18´s from Skymaster. (In fact, all my fleet is composed from old airplanes, don´t know if this is good or bad, LOL).
I will do some flights with it in Curitiba to test some new batteries and seeing if everything´s ok and then I will set it aside for my next visit there.

Well, back in SJRP again! it was a great saturday of flying, and a pleasure to meet Jose and the guys too.. it was great to watch him flying the Rookie and having a great time with this plane after I recommended it.. (this is the advantage of having dinosaurs as friends, haha)
Talking about dinosaurs I flew the old F-18.. and a local friend took great pics of it with a good camera. I never had such a good view of the plane before!
As usual Jose and company where outstanding guests in a outstanding r/c club. He and the 14 bis r/c club is absolutely a class act.
And this are some pics from my camera, and also Felipe´s .. by the way he is flying a turbinator, with a K80 using diesel. a very nice combo. He showed very impressive skills even if he just started flying jets now.
Also nice to meet Flavio with his mkII,..great flying and building skills too in his bandit mk2.
Hope to be back there , next year.. is a long drive to get there, but certainly is worth of it. Thanks a lot Jose,Achilles, Thiago,Felipe, Flavio, Wilson, Leonardo & company for the invitation and for the great saturday I spent there. Also hope my friends here in RCU will enjoy the pictures.

And hopefuly some good ones! Right now I am figuring what route is better.. usually I take the shorter one, but the roads in my state have been so badly kept, not to mention the numerous tolls are so absurdly expensive that I think that will give a try going via S,Paulo this time.
