Funny, Ripmax couldn't tell me exactly where we were on tank capacity, but 2.7-2.8 litres is my guess....its big enough!
Was good to have Ali's opinion on it, he wants a more neutral balance than this one has, so depending on Ripmax's view on when I'm giving it back I may shift it for next weekends Sculthorpe event.
James, its one of those shapes that changes with time and angles. Still much nicer than the opposition, not limited to one outlet and cheaper!

Im going to fit a Wren 80 into my one. You mentioned that the gear is proving leak free and tank shape proved without a header tank only a felt clunk. Would it still be a good idea to fit a small header tank.

Yes, I would always fit a header tank personally. Think it was mainly that when Ripmax put this one together they didn't have one to hand.

There is more space than you think, the removable nose cone gives great access. The Sports Scheme prototype I was flying last Xmas had a header tank mounted at the back of the nose cone area. But yes, the way this tank works (and capacity) the 2oz MAP header would be a good option.

End of November/early December was last I heard, will depend when the batch of kits is ready, there will be Military and more Sports scheme. I'm pushing for it to be early as I already have a growing back order list. Hopefully the ship won't catch fire this time!!

Well, It should not be long now before the kits arrive and I can get stuck in with my build. I don't know why but I am really looking forward to this one and will post a few photos as I go.

Started build, hardware pack looks good, nice wood parts, a little light finishing on the edges inside the fuzz nice and smooth now, not much required , polished the outside with car polish, looking good already.
Vacuumed the inside all clean now, I use the vacuum all the time during build to keep the inside clean.

Thanks for those Paul, keep'em coming. Have to say it's all looking very neat and tidy. The only thing I am not so sure of is the plastic horns, do you plan to use them?.

Some pilots on the other side of the pond are already drooling over this. I did the same when I saw it at JP 2013. Now I can find a good use for my spare P60 knowing how well it handles.
We would be getting them in the next batch that's about 6-7 weeks out.

Jetser. I was the same, but I have 15-20 flights on Ripmaxs demo, snaps, spins, rolling loops, still fine. I did look around for a better horn to add to the pack, but not found anything suitable yet. I guess those using P-100's I might add a HD one for elevator, though Ripmax did a "stress test" with a P-100 in one of the prototypes and it was fine.
Mike-its going to be good for you, we have a growing list for the second batch due late November. (hope its not as late as these!!)
Looked through the three kits we collected today and they all look really good.
Monday will be a busy day when the big truck arrives with our remaining order.

Looking at all the photos and favourable comments about the Xcalibur one has to give Ripmax credit. They have moved into the jet market admirably, first with the lovely Hunter which is well presented and as big jets go very good value for money, and now this, again well priced with nice retracts etc and the design/quality seems first class and I know they will do well with it. Top marks to Ripmax!.
