For those who have flown their big Avanti's, are there any required mixing (elevator) when flaps are at take off or landing settings?

Cassie,
Where is your measured CG placement on the wing root? Just forward of the gear strut opening? If I wanted to go back 315mm, that puts the spot just about in the middle of the gear strut opening...that check with you? It looks like I will have to add lots of weight up front even though all batteries are way forward. First time on her feet, I can lift the nose up and she will sit on her tail....tail heavy for sure.

The Avanti S has the CG also in the middle of the gear strut opening and it will also sit on its tail if you lift the nose up. I wonder if the XL closely represents the original. The Avanti S flys well at that CG range.

I have measured cg at 300 mm from root of leading edge . I have a pilot start battery in nose and 2 other batteries near the front wheel . I have put 450 grams of lead under the ecu battery to have cg correct . Test flight in 7 days time .

Sebastiano has BTW, it's the XXL in this video and not the the smaller S like the title suggests.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHub8LLo1mw I especially liked the rolling harriers and the blender at the end!

Had my first flight on my Avanti XXL today and everything went great. Used the recommended control measurements per manual. It was perfect and would not change a thing. It does climb slightly in takeoff and landing flaps. I will mix about 5% down elevator next time I fly. Only had to use 2 beeps of right aileron. Very stable without using any gyro. Landing flaps are very effective and require some power during landing.
For the first flight, set my timer to 5 mins (including start up and taxi). Flying no more then half throttle (Full on take off) and still had a half a tank left. Will increase timer to 7 mins next flight and will use taxi tank.
Will send some more pictures when I receive from other members that were at the field.

Setup:
Jet Central Mammoth
Futable 18MZ
BLS-172 all around.
Royal SRS - Sbus to 2 Futaba R7008SB
2 5200 mah Duralite Powerbox Batteries
EVSD-5U_Pro Gear sequencer
JetCat smoke pump
Thrust Vectoring
High Flow CAT
Skymaster 1/6 Pilot
CG was set at 305mm
ECU Battery forward of nose gear with about 14-16oz of lead
Also used Hanger 9 Pro-links with DuPro ball links all around.

Just a guess...about 400-450 grams forward of nose gear on top of the ECU battery

My good friend Ian was all set to go on his maiden and was very disappointed.

Temporary fix so he an try again tomorrow. Will be in contact with Skymaster about bonding issues of canopy installation in due course.

Just heads up for others to check their canopy out prior to flying.
