Default 14sg elevator expo issue

Hey guys, I have been flying my F-16 around and have gotten used to it and want to add ailevators. In the radio menu I kept a "normal" tail but added an additional elevator to the function tab. I got the elevators working as they should and the ailevators as they should. The issue is I try to put expo into the elevators and only one elevator gets it. I cant get my second elevator to see that I am giving it expo. Looking forward to your guys input. Thanks

Steven

Just curious what you are talking about? "Ailevators"?? Do you mean Elevons or Delta mix? You should set it in the menu as Elevons or Delta mix, not "normal". Does your model have Ailerons? BTW, you should never use EXPO on primary function as Elevator unless you got advanced parkinsons, but in that case you probly shouldn't have Lic. to fly "F-16".

ailevators are basically giving your elevators aileron functions. There is an option in the radio menu to turn on ailevators.

Meaning it is ELEVON/DELTA MIX, correct? Otherwise, what's the difference? In that case you should set your menu as "AILEVATORS" not NORMAL.

Guys, the issue is not with the ailevators. I can't put expo on both elevators.

What did you call the second elevator? "Elevator or Elevator 2" this can affect wether all function are common or Seperate. You can check this by looking in the function menu the "T2" will be null "-" if all functions are common.

What do you mean about not using expo?

Putting EXPO on primary function as ELEVATOR is just like putting it on Throttle!

Jofro,

Expo is probably used by 80% of all the jet guys here. My turbine also uses expo on the throttle.

I think I got it!? We are living on different planest. No wonder I read such bad reviews about the models I had nothing but the success with up to date, like "A-10 X" or the "100", Herc". I know only about 3 guys flying M2 in my club and they are the worse pilots always crashing.

While the use of expo and the amount used is based almost totally on personal preference, unless you think 90+% of competitive precision aerobatics pilots are doing it wrong, then I can't think of a more incorrect statement with regards to the use of expo.

With all the 'expert advice' being dished out did someone come up with the answer
to the original question?

John.

Westwind I would probably switch the wingtype to flying wing instead of normal. jofro are you sure you dont mean end point adjustment and not exponential ....sorry but most of the people I know who have been flying jets and large scale aircraft use Exponential.

Sounds like you have it .. but .. to point back to Mick's advice .. if you use the "built-in" AILEVATOR function, it couples things like trim and expo to both surfaces.

If you do it "by hand" using a mix you have to enable the "link" function and get the "+" sign to appear on the PMIX menu on the right of the mixed channel (the slave, as they call it), It's page 108 in my pdf file of the 18MZ manual, chapter heading "Prog Mixes").

The box where the "+" shows up is small and initially blank so you have to know to do it...or (horrors!) read the manual :-)
