I’m not sure the X45 install will be ‘way lighter’. The engine is exactly the same weight as the P20 so it is only the ancillaries that are lighter. The P20 pump, ECU and valve block are heavier than the X45 equivalents but they are by no means heavy.
I am also quite happy using a light pipe with the P20 whereas I might personally prefer a slightly more substance twin wall pipe with the X45. If you’re using the full power of the X45 you will also need more fuel.
The X45 is clearly much more powerful than the P20 and is a great engine for the Mini Avanti, but the P20 is also fine from hard surfaces or short grass.

www.turbines-rc.com is where I recently ordered my mini Avanti.
Ordered the bird and the JP retract / brake set.
Fantastic service...order was processed within 24 hours
Ordered the conversion set through HAB
Looking forward to flying it with the X45.

I am also confused by the x45 being way lighter than p20 and k30 install, there is 80 grams between a k30/k45g3 and x45 and 30g of that is in the turbine body but pump and ecu so can be used to balance. The x45 also needs a beefier battery to start. Reality is these turbines installed in a Avanti at least are very close. The k30/k45g3 needs only to be 80g heavier install than x45 at most. The x45 is a great engine with it's fast start and the deceleration times and low residual thrust are the real differences to me. Let's see which of these highly strung engines consistently gets to 25 hours in one piece before declaring a outright winner lol.

Lol three you greedy bugger, you love them little engines, I have to agree they are a cracking bit kit. Yes my point was only that size/weight is not the major factor/drama between k45g3 and x45 that some make out to be. The x45 def is in the lead though.

Yeah, I know, but approaching retirement now and selling off older engines offsets the cost, so when I do pull the pin, I will have plenty of toys to keep me happy! Plus the Australian agent love me!! Because of the size of these little jets, I regularly take three up to my club for a session, and they all fit nicely in the back of my wagon.

May i ask what the hab coversion kit consists of, and the cost. I am converting my Avanti to a X45 and looking at what pipe and tank to install. Was planning on a Grumanian pipe and making a tank from a 1ltr bottle but hab might be a better solution.

Past conversions consisted of CNC Engine mount, CNC exhaust support ring, Fuel tank with accessories, Exhaust pipe 50mm
Cost around $150 US plus shipping. Have not received actual Avanti invoice yet. Will let you know in a couple of days.

Thought i would weigh my Avanti out of curiosity .
spec:
Wren 44 gold manual start (gas)
Wren Pipe
2oz Uat.
950cc tank with aprox 200cc of fuel in tank
4.08 Kg all up
surprised with the weights others are quoting with the kingtech and X45 i thought i would come out much higher
spec:
Wren 44 gold manual start (gas)
Wren Pipe
2oz Uat.
950cc tank with aprox 200cc of fuel in tank
4.08 Kg all up

My Feedback: (2)
Mine is 4.79Kg
K45G1
tam dual wall pipe
2oz UAT full
receiver batts and ecu batt
Jet1A main struts - jp wheels brakes
tam nose strut - tam wheel
no fuel in tank - 1.7L kevlar tank
Flies amazingly well. lands incredibly easy. No thoughts of making it lighter

Does any one Know if the unbranded 17g servos, supplied by Sebart, will be ok on 6.6v. I want to fit a Spektrum power safe receiver with 2 Life batteries in mine. I believe the CYS door and steering servos are rated for 6v so should be ok. Will the JP retract controller, rated at 5 to 6v work on 6.6v ?
