My Feedback: (41)
Dont want to use, flying stabs.
Changed to conventional .. 30 % eleavtor
have read that flaps blanket out stabs.{ on f-18}
my change, more likely to have less control?
Because of blanket effect? {if any}
i have done this on many f-16.
Worked super
AIR SALLY HAD SOME INFO ON THIS ..

Never experienced blanket out effect with mine with flying stabs, nor any other problem with them.
It is possible that you will have slightly less pitch authority at low speeds, but you can live with this just shifting back a bit the cg.. only problem with it is that the plane will be slightly less stable at landing approaches. Donīt think that using flaps in your plane would be a issue.
p.s. this was yesterday.. great fun at Joinville/ Brazil. ;-)

Just remembered now.. there is a german modeler who scratched built a f18 with conventional elevators.. he uses the flaps without issues,
even for takeoff wich is the full scale solution for a easy rotation in this airframe. (I use 45 degree flaps for takeoff too).
