If I used them as a reference when mounting the turbine the turbine round be crooked in relation to the fuse.
Why they are still milling period instead of laser cutting in current times as these is baffling to me. There are foamy turbine jet mfrs that laser cut their parts...
I don’t think, it’s because of the milling.....I think it’s the install....the motor wasn’t too bad......slightly off Center and required a small shim no big deal at all......but the nose gear plate was not install level in the fuse and I had to shim one side quite a bit to make the nose gear leg straight down versus on an angle....the servo fitted fine...but not the servo arm slots......but it fly fines...didn’t required a single click of trim....

More motivation for me! I drove down to visit Roman of Badboyzrc, helped set up ecu(per my request) , and took delivery of serial number 001 of the new Swiwin SW220B! They actually delivered serial number 002 today as well, for another Rebel Pro!

Danny, I have asked Andreas from CARF this very question a few days ago and he said that the glue joint strength is weaker with laser cut parts due to the charring. This is why CARF still continues to only mill their parts...

Too many. 6.5 liters. He announced a 5.5L with built in UAT as soon as I took delivery of this one. I only plan to fill to 4.5-5 liters.

I'm basically done except for final mounting of the ECU/smoke battery, so curiosity got the best of me. Fuse with everything including tails n wing tube is 25lb 14oz, and both wing panels together weigh 10lb 7oz.
I was hoping for under 36lbs, but 36.5 ain't bad either.

Fuse, rtf with wing tube

Wing panel, rtf. Both weigh this.

I do have a smoke system installed. Weight was with zero fuel. CG will be good with no added weight, but ecu/smoke battery will be jammed up in the nose.

No real answer here, its what ever you prefer, elevator, ailerons, and rudder I used less than 1 in" placement. the flaps I went 1 in" placement of the ballend.

I used SWB 1-1/4" arms with the ball link on the second hole in to achiever the recommended 40mm throw on elevator, same for ailerons, although I may use the outer hole. I am only getting 17 degrees of up travel and 19.5 degrees down(reverse differential). I like a lot of aileron, but I'm sure I have enough for the maiden and will make my decision after that. I believe I'm getting the 35-40mm that CARF recommends. Pirotti only recommends 15mm elevator and 10mm aileron
On flap, I used H9 1" arms with the ball link on the inner hole. Using the full 150% travel in both directions, with the linkage forming a straight line between servo spline and control arm at landing flaps I was able to get 54 degrees(comp-arf recommends 60 degrees, Pirotti recommends 90mm so I'm somewhere in between). Not sure on Pirotti rudder since the linkage is higher up. My guess is an SWB 1-1/4" would be fine. On my CARF, I used a 1-1/2".

My Rebel is ready for maiden. Was kind of surprised by the weight. I thought the CARF version was going to trend lighter than Pirotti/EA versions(I've read reports of as low as under 35lbs)
I ended up at 36.5lbs with a full uat, but even with my 10.5oz ecu battery all the way in the nose and a liter of fuel in the tank my cg was nearly 20mm behind the wing tube. According to CARF that is fine, but that's probably not a good cg point for maiden, so I strapped a half pound worth of 45 caliber bullets to the ecu battery for maiden. I'm still a couple mm behind the tube, but not bad. Other than a slightly heavier turbine(4.4lbs all up with ecu, wiring, and pump), i couldn't have built it any lighter. No gyro, no gps, no powerbox, only three batteries total.

Don’t forget you Bullets no bullets in the one I build 😂

to be exact....16.88 kg it was uat full (both fuel and smoke) and with fuel in the Main Tank....at the desired C&G

I also put smoke fluid in the tank then empty it since there always a little that stay in the tanks......

just saying for what you have in there it seem heavy...

So 37.2 lbs. I believe the sw220b is right at the same weight as the kingtech 210, unless their 3lb 10oz weight claim includes the pump, mount, and ecu. In which case that explains some of my extra weight.
I'm not concerned with the weight as far as how light it will 'feel', but until now I don't own a single jet with less than 1:1 thrust at take off

Successful maiden! I would say I could easily go out of sight on a vertical with the sw220b, but it won't accelerate vertical. Honestly, through, it's probably the perfect amount of power. 6 minute flight uses less than half a tank, too.
not sure if the FB link will work, but there wasn't too much exciting stuff on the maiden, anyway. Second flight I got lower and flew faster. Fast passes were teasing the 200mph mark for sure.

‘The one I build for my friend is the same 6.5 minutes and a little more then half left.....but it’s a Pirotti tank maybe you made them for him?.....anyway too big for sure but the jet doesn’t seem to care weight wise...

5 liters would be the perfect size I think for the 200 class motor...

5 liters would be the perfect size, agreed. I only filled mine to about 5.75 liters and was still just under half tank at 6 minutes. With the 220, all flying is half throttle except uplines and high speed passes. Crazy seeing this big jet go by at 195mph!

Here's a youtube link since I know a lot of people don't like FB. I have decided that the jet will get more nose weight in the form of bigger batteries(dual 5200 li-ions) mounted further up with the ECU battery. That and reducing the recommended elevator throw from the recommended 35mm to more like 25mm, as I feel a lot of the 'pitchiness' came from WAY too much elevator throw.
