One 2.4Ghz and an R3 900Mhz. Actually he has been doing further testing with this setup and he had another failover indicated by the radio and said he didn't notice it this time. I guess it depends on the situation an how bad the interference is. Where he flies, it's about as bad as it gets. As ZB said, some control is better than no control in this situation. It's just that some testing seems to indicate that the way the software works at the moment is less than ideal but again, it's all upgradable and I do have faith that Jeti will get this working in an optimal fashion...

I think my real point was that the 900Mhz is a "fail over" link and really doesn't do anything until 2.4Ghz stops working. Adding a 900Mhz receiver as a second rx isn't the equivalent of having a combined 2.4Ghz / 900Mhz dual path setup where 900mhz will fill in frames here and there if your Q drops below 50% or something like that. The 900Mhz receiver doesn't even output data on a regular basis until 2.4Ghz gets below some level which seem to be close to a Q of 0. This is indicated by checking the PPM stream coming out of the 900Mhz rx and seeing that it seems to only send data approximately every 100ms or so while 2.4Ghz is active and servos directly connected to the 900Mhz Rx operates very erratically.. As soon as the 2.4Ghz link fails or is disabled, the huge gap in the PPM stream from the 900Mhz rx disappears and servos get updated smoothly.. What isn't clear is how this behaves when the 2.4Ghz link is bouncing around between a Q of 0-20% rapidly due to interference and that was my concern.

Picture a mass foamy flight similar to a Joe Nall event where suddenly all 2.4 gets blasted by aliens, do all pilots still have independent control? or only a certain number? or all go boom?

Hope that makes sense.
All devices must be Frequency Hopping. The old systems like the DSM2 (2x locked channels) is no longer legal to sell and manufacture.

This is another reason Jeti is ruling the roost.

Good job guys and gals!!

Now send me my DS-24 already!!!

Was getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these things till I saw this - the right hand side of the transmitter failing? Thank god Gernot had a glider....

See at 4:00' and at 10.45'

Any German speaker can tell what happened here? Was it really transmitter failure of Jeti DC-24?

While I completely agree with you that it seems an unlikely failure there was a translated comment in the video that said something like transmitter unilaterally failed on one side or some such thing but I have no idea if it was translated correctly or if the person posting the video actually knew what really happened. I guess anything is possible as there is no such thing as a perfect system. I'm not going to worry about a single online video as there are similar videos around for pretty much every system in existence. Now if there are a number of similar failures reported that's a different story but I haven't heard of any so far.

Sorry hard to comment we never ever had anything like this or even heard about something like this happening since we start selling DC-24
I heard from Gernot and Jeti about some defective 3rd. party telemetry device that cased some problems overloading the data stream.
As a precaution Jeti issued 4.24 tx firmware update. It's simply next to impossible to test all devices in all possible configurations.

Default Change of backplate?

Hi,

Got my dark red Ds 24 and love it.

But I would like a clean backside and don't need the sliders/switches there. Is it possible to buy a new DS 16 backplate and disable previous sliders/switches?

Thanks Alf

Yes no problem, just unplug single connector from Jeti DS-24 main board.

Jeti Central Box Updates

Version 1.09 for Central Box 400 Power Distribution Unit
This update brings additional option of adding third Jeti Duplex 900MHz or 2.4GHz receiver for triple dual band redundancy. The Central Box 400 supports additional receiver via Ext1 port using EX Bus protocol.

For proper function the transmitter device folder needs to be updated using new configuration file "CBOX400.bin".

Will a third 2.4GHz receiver with this update/configuration work with a DS-16 transmitter?

Apparently the answer is no (according to Espirit). The DS-16 has no way to bind with the 3rd rx. Three rx's on the same frequency band seems like overkill anyway.

I would not have thought so, as the DS-16 doesn't have the 900 mhz transmission capability?

I kind of like that Jeti has that "overkill" feel to it in alot of it's properties.
