LGM.....true as I mentioned. Still, I would trade my Falcon 120 for one. There is another cheap, fun, faster jet to fly, the Falcon 120.

Dave,
thing is, the point of my thread was that we are lacking a P70 sized sport jet that has that cool sleek look that drew many of us to jets in the first place back in the ducted fan days. I have an old bobcat xl that I fly with my P70 but if there was a reasonably priced jet that had the look of those old jets like the aggressors vipers original bandits etc that would be my wish. There are lots of P70 sized choices out there that fly well, but they lack the sex appeal if you will. My fleet right now consists of my bobcat, firebird, raptor and F5. Looks wise my bobcat is my least favourite but it flies well and is efficient on fuel especially compared to the big AMT's in the other jets.
No arguing that there are some great flying smaller jets out there. They just lack that slippery sexy look.

Jeremy,

True. Don't disagree with you. I get your point.......you miss, what was that jet you had with the JPX turbine, a ballistic missile that gets the juices flowing. Your right, there are not that many choices left if any. But, there is also the other end. Take Bob's Me-262 with a pair of P-70s. That will get your heart racing when you fly. Excitement comes in many forms. Or, try one of the SR-71 models.....scary cool.

I never had a JPX turbine, I think the jet you are referring too though was my Aviation Design Exocet. That had a RAM 750 in it. I do miss that jet, I wish I had never sold it. It was a bit odd looking but it flew awesome. I liked it's slightly unconventional looks. The ME262 is awesome but that gets expensive and the SR71s are very cool but there are no kits of them out there that are decent either, not that I'm aware of anyway. I don't think an SR71 would be a great grass field jet either.

Funny enough, this is possible.
Did you realize that the Diamond is a scaled up Exocet?
Same wing and stabilator airfoil, same pitching moment, just much bigger and with a different fuselage.
It flies exactly the same, but faster at top speed...
Not if you fit it with a P-70 though

Jeremy,

Yes...it was your Exocet with the Ram 750. I recall that now Jeremy. There are kits of both out there....not cheap your right.

Take a peek at this one.....http://www.altecare.com/scorpion.htm or I seen this one locally fly....fast and neat. http://www.altecare.com/phoenix.htm

There is the old standby. A Skymaster/Jet Legend/Tam Jets 1/9 size F16. F16s are fast and sexy. I have a Tamjets version that was quick with a Wren54. It flew at one time with a P80 and full smoke. I thought that was a bit heavy though.

Takecare,
Dave

So, on the topic of this thread...I acquired an Aggressor 2. It's old and been in storage for years and the fuse in ok shape considering. the wings are a little rough but still..... 2016 winter project: Try my hand at turning this into a plug, then build molds. With any luck, I can pull this off and there's tons of experts on here with the knowledge to help me out. I'd like to see if I can pull 4 or 5 planes off this. We shall see!

Changes will be plug in wings, canopy front hatch. and of course..built for turbine.

Ive had a nice guy help me out with some scans of the original plans, but still gathering intelligence on this project

I think it's in how far it's build up/completion ..??

I send an e-mail to Jean-Piere from ZN-line with exactly the same question and waiting for an answer.
But that can take a while cause they are at the JetPower event as we speak.

As soon as i know more i will post here.

And look what just came out as well.... http://www.jetsmunt.com/wp/m70xbl/

This looks to me like an great combo

It still fails in the good looking category IMO. Looks like a pregnant dolphin. Being from ZN line I'm sure it flies amazing though!

This will be my winter project. 80N class, plug in wings / canards. All balsa / ply from a German designer. Its called the Stingray 2. I think its a sexy....kind of a stealthy look. I emailed him to inquire if he would send me a laser cut kit, but he declined. A few days later, he emailed me a dwg file of the plans !

I like it, something different! Looks like it could be a secret Russian plane of some type.

The photos are of the original version...Stingray. He has since revised it to the Stingray 2. Longer fuselage for cg purposes , working rudders, plug in wings and canards for easier transport, and also two additional air intakes in the top aft area just ahead of the turbine. There is a video on youtube under Sting Ray .mp4 . most of the footage is ground handling, with a short part of the flight at the end of the video. I would drool over this if it were flat black like an F117. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68RPNubsPwM

btw, the video is the revised version. You can see the additional air intakes as opposed to the original version. looks solid in flight.

My winter project has just arrived.. it is the PAF Flugmodel Sting. It is a simple kit to make, foam wings are covered with obeche and leading edges and wing tips are glued in place. The space for the hinge line is milled out. Nice parts and should be a quick build. I am going for a light build. I will be flying it with the new Merlin M70 when it arrives. The wingspan is 1.7m and it can be built to about 6-7 Kg dry. I will be using film for the wings for lightness and the whole installation will be 'old school' and simple. The model recently had a larger wing and quite a few have flown with Jetcat P60, video on youtube. This is a very reasonable price for a decent sized model. Flies very nice and slow with the flaps down.

Yes pictures of the kit on facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...3992504&type=3

Mine came extremely well packaged in double thickness cardboard and plenty of bubble wrap. No damage at all in transit.

Nice slow flying video
