Well I tried diesel on my 2005 P-120 with Kerostart and it shutoff showing hot temp. Was running then shutoff. Switched back to JET A nothing perfect. I guess my engine doesn’t like diesel! My manual does say if the pump voltage is to high flames may come out of the back. That I did see.

Winter,

Will you take a quick pic (top down) of your turbine install as well as a pic of how much of the pipe you have sticking out the back of the jet (if any)? I'm going to install the K140G2 and supplied pipe in mine.

Here's my maybe issue: If I mount the supplied pipe properly, I'm having to mount the K140G2 at the very back of the engine mount against the vertical bulkhead that separates the "engine mount area" from the "Thrust tube area" and I'm concerned that the K140G2 isn't mounted far enough into the Bellmouth. I've been told to mount it betwen 3/4" and 1" from the start of the pipe, itself. Right now, if I place everything as described, I don't think the engine sticks far enough into the bellmouth. I'm wondering if I need to cut into that bulkhead to get it close enough and this isn't really something I want to do if it doesn't need to be done.

Thank you,
Scott

I think you can move your pipe forward. Mine is between 1/8”-1/4” inside the rear of the fuse

cbk07 and Dansy It seems that the distance between the start of the pipe and the exhaust of the engine is more than 1". Is that just an optical delusion?

This is great though. I was trying to leave like a 1/4" of the pipe sticking out. I just like the look of it, I guess. Doesn't seem like that's gonna work though.

Also, one other question if I may. Are the socket heads to tighten down the empennage and the wings 3MM? It doesn't seem like mine line up very well.

The distance on mine is between 20 to 30mm, I put this one together a few years ago....still going strong...its also a 2017 T-1, they may have change something...I just don't know.

My socket heads seem to fit a 1/8” ball driver better than 3mm. Also, be sure to put some loctite on them or some Hysol on end of bolt so they can’t back out. The wing ones will unscrew themselves on a long trip which can be a nightmare (ask me how I know lol)

‘When I assemble mine I put thin lock nuts at the tips so they couldn’t back out...

I’m using a 3mm (scorpion) and that work fine for me...

I think you have a pipe unnecessarily too far in front. I have the end of the pipe at the same time as the end of the fuselage. The distance between the end of the turbine and the beginning of the pipe is 30 mm. It works perfectly. ***winter***

It’s best to have the pipe slightly inside the end of the fuselage to help draw air out.

Finally pulled the trigger on a T1. Hoping to get some info prior to the build regarding hardware. Looks like all the ball links are 4-40, is that correct? Also, regarding servo arm length, I like to go as small as possible for better resolution. Looks like some are using 1" arms, anyone using anything smaller? How about on the flaps for the internal linkage? TIA!

Congrats!
Its all metric hardware so 3mm not 4-40. The included ball links I would call acceptable, I replaced all mine with Dubro. Servo arm length, unless you want to cut the slots bigger so the ball link will fit through the slot, will all have to be 1”. The servo arm package that is on the PRCJ website is pretty nice and all the correct size. The flaps internal linkage I don’t really understand why they did that. It’s a PITA, it’s a sport jet I wish they would have just left it external. But it’s nice to have it internal I guess. What scheme did you get?

Is anyone flying their T1 with a 180 in it? I prefer to over power my planes so that I'm not flying around at full throttle making the engine cry uncle the whole time. Just curious about residual thrust on landing?

I’m using Kingtech 160 G2, with no problem for power, and landing with flaps. Easy and slow, solid .
