I set mine where it needs to be when extended and haven't had any problems.

You have the air beast 100 degree retracts? If so did you have to dremel any of the opening out so it could fully extend forward?

A picture of yours would help. Mine binds on the wood inside when it retracts, but the way the retracts work it just shuts off there I don't think mine is a 100degree though. It's not long enough to reach the rear of the compartment either.

Mine doesn't reach the back like that....My wheel goes right in that hole. You may have to open the front after all

Default nose gear

That's what I was thinking I was going to have to do. I don't want to but unless I can get airbeast to send me a 90 degree trunion block then I will have to get the dremel out.

OK, looks like I found it- or something very much like it- at Advance Auto Part. I plan to use it to shield servo leads/air lines as shown in the pictures above. Any reason not to use this or any advice/precautions?

Hey there.. The alum tape is used on metal heat and AC ducting. Works awesome.. Home Depot or other hardware stores.

I use this: https://www.delcity.net/store/Flexo-...22111.h_822112 and its cheap! Just source it from another location. I have a site that I go to but cant post it just yet. Need to get on my other PC to get the link. this keeps wire install clean and protected.

Edit: here is the link that I buy mine from: https://www.wirecare.com/category/br...me-temperature

Any ideas if they will make a fuselage bag for the original T-1?

Have you guys had any issues with shipping? I got one of my boxes 7/3 and the other one still in China according to the shipping tracking.

That has happened to a couple people that I have read on this thread over the last year, but they got the other box shortly after the first one.

Hey has anyone had any issues with the new electric retracts? The nose gear doesn't fit into the semicircle cut out that is in the nose where it attaches to the fuse...

Here are some pics

And a link to the movie..

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mowcdkonsw...53.29.mov?dl=0

Thanks in advance.. I think there may be a "newer" set of electric gear that I should have received.. My plane was accidentally ordered with Air Retracts and then Pacific sent me a set of electrics...

Please help

Also .. Is everyone thermal protecting the4 runs to the elevators and rudder? I have them in thermal snake skin and I have them mounted along the fuselage .. And secured with epoxied mounting tabs and wire ties..

That is what I use on all my jets.. Is there something different here I should know about?

Thanks in advance!!!

Decided that due to there not being a clear canopy, so no cockpit detail being required, lets be a bit creative.

Took some ideas from previous posts here and came up with this. Now you see the spaghetti, now you don't.

mini T1 is now available and flies fantastic! Perfect size plane for those with limited space. Like the bigger T1 it flies very light And precise

Default Landing gear screws

Hi Guys,

I am just starting to look at building my T-1, and I noticed the Philips screws that were provided to install the landing gear. I am not completely comfortable with the idea of using wood screws on mine, so I was wondering how many of you were using these screws. I will be flying off of grass, and normally I use 4mm socket head capscrews with blind nuts for gear installs. With the glass plates that they have used to sandwich the gear plywood plates, this may be difficult to do though.

Any feedback is appreciated! I recently saw my first T-1 fly at a jet event, and this has me speeding up my build now. I have enough jets to fly right now, and this WAS going to be a winter build. Really nice quality, and what a great flier too!! I was actually quite surprised when I opened the box to see how large it is. The fuselage has a ton of room for a mid-size jet.

Use the wood screws. You want the gear to rip out of the mounts on an extreme " arrival " With them bolted in place you run the risk of tearing your entire wing apart. The CF mounts are plenty strong enough and the
articulating mains work as advertised to dampen out bounces.

Cheers

Good day

I have built half many T-1's now and have always used the supplied gear mounting screws. I know many others who have used the factory screws as well. I think only a few people are flying off grass and haven't heard of any issues. I prefer wood screws over blind nuts, if you have a hard landing or hit a rodent hole your gear will just pull out. With blind nuts you take the chance of tearing your wings apart.

Enjoy the build. They go together nicely.
