Trying to wait for the new thrust vectoring set up so I wont have to balance twice but I may just go ahead and finish everything up

What receivers are you going with?

I have been flying Frsky for several years. If you look on the right side of the right side of the pic right below the fuel pump you can see the RX8R Pro receiver with a redundancy back up. I also use the R9 slim + long range receiver as a secondary receiver. That way I am flying on 2.4 gig and 900m and will always have a signal.

Is it still up to the user to install the nose gear door or does it come done at the factory with a servo installed like the Mini?

Whats the current wait time if I order today?

Really debating between the factory electric gear or electrons, how are the factory gear holding up? I’m probably going to go with Electrons.
I ordered at the end of September through the German representative FINAL-Modellbau. Delivery date is March 2020. ***winter***

Before I ordered mine, I was frustrated by the 16+ week wait time. Initially, they would not even take my order. So I ordered a different plane. Then once I flew the rather disappointing different plane, I decided to order the T1. Now, having flown them both, a lot, I wish I had just ordered the T1 in the first place. That being said, once I did order it, I was given a delivery period of ~12 weeks. They beat that period by a couple days. Dirk is honest and upfront with you about delivery dates. He won't give you an unrealistic promise and then let you wonder what is going on. I even got an occasional update from him.

The servo was installed on my T-1's nose gear door. The linkage was a little weird and put a lot of stress on the door's hinge. My hinge broke after a few operations. So I ended up replacing the hinge and then attaching the linkage to the door itself, versus the hinge arm. Now, I can pull that door tightly shut w/o pulling on that fragile hinge arm. BTW: The exact hinge replacements can be had at Ebay.

It is a great flying plane and is built well. It is well worth the wait. I can't tell you how many pilots have came up to me and said they wished they had waited for one.

Yeah, he’s far from me and local pickup only...

Plus I’m pretty picky, I want it to be perfect.

I have a T-1 Mini I ordered through Dirk.. it’s just the long wait that sucks but I already know it’s worth it and the quality is amazing.. it’s worth it for sure. March 2020 just seems like a really long ways away!!

I was also hoping for a Black Friday sale but if they are that backed up fat chance is that..

I ordered mine in July. I emailed Dirk a couple weeks ago and he said it was supposed to be going into paint. That was at the 12 week point, I am in the dark as to how long it takes from that point to
my doorstep and I haven’t heard anything since, so I think it could be awhile. This is not so much a complaint as a heads up that 8 weeks is probably not a realistic estimate at the present time. It is what it is and as long as it’s done right that’s fine just a heads up for planning purposes

Mine arrived a week and a half ago. Took about 18 weeks. The EMS shipping only took 5 or 6 days. It will be worth the wait...they fly phenomenal and are very complete!! Chinese New Year comes I to play at this point as the factory will close down for that early next year

Default Delivery time

16 weeks is pretty good. I ordered mine when they first came out and waited 34 weeks for it. I understand my order fell during Chinese new year so I can forgive 4 weeks of that. It however is a good flying plane and have enjoyed mine alot.

My T1 did have the nose door installed but did not come with a servo, however I received my T1 in June of 2017 so that may have changed in the past 2+ years since. All three of my T1 minis did come with a servo already installed on the nose gear door even though none of the three were the PNP version. -Tom

The T-1 I have seen (mine is 2017 as well) that were received this past summer have a lot of different things done to them...

As for the servo arm length....I have 1" except on the flaps I'm using ¾" ....but since the flaps are now internal versus external linkage unlike mine....they might need a different length.

I agree...1” everywhere except flaps as there is not enough clearance. 3/4” work perfect on flaps

Can anyone post a pic of the internal flap setup? Just curious to see how it’s setup. Good thing about the wait is I have plenty of time to get the rest of the equipment and plan out what I want.

I think I’m going to give the promodeler servos a try, my buddy just got three today and says they are really impressive. I’ve been wanting to try them for a long time.

I’ve never setup smoke before, how is the pump usually powered? Separate battery? I didn’t install smoke in my Mini.

For the smoke pump.....depend on the pump...I normally used the KingTech pump, and I add a small 2s 1100mAh battery just for it.....and shared the #2 RX with the retract, I’m on Jeti CB200 so when I land my battery are pretty much equal, the retract doesn’t actually take much....I have never actually look to see how much the smoke pump takes...but that 1100 is good for smoke with at least 5 flights (what I normally do in one day) I only fill the tank to half for most flights.

Linkage is very straight forward. 3mm ball link (I used Dubro but am sure the ones with kit are just fine) with a 3/4” arm on servo end. On servo end I used an SWB 3/4” arm for clevis. I also ground away a bit of wood for clearance....not sure if necessary

Thanks for posting the pics of the hidden push rod setup. Does the hidden push rod config have any mechanical leverage advantages/disadvantages over the exposed push rod config? - Tom

As long as they are well designed and put together....they are equally suitable for the task, a good friend of mine flew his newer T-1 and they are hidden....work still fine after many flights..
