Default Horizon Hobby no longer a JR distributor

Just saw this on the JRAmerica's site:

JR Americas

JR Official Distribution Change

We are contacting you to notify you of a change in distribution and servicing for JR products.

Beginning in July 2016, JR Propo Japan announced to the world a major restructuring of their company. This restructuring has caused delays in the manufacturing and supply of many JR products.

While production on select JR products has resumed recently, overall supply is still less than anticipated and is not sufficient to supply current market demands required by JR Americas and Horizon Hobby.

Due to this limited product availability, and no clear timeframe as to when ample production capacities will resume, JR Americas and Horizon Hobby have mutually agreed that Horizon Hobby will officially discontinue distribution and servicing of the JR product line.

JR Propo and JR Americas would like to thank Horizon Hobby officially for their nearly 25 years as a distributor for the JR brand.

JR Americas will continue to import and distribute JR products through our dealer network. The JR Americas Service Center is also fully staffed and ready to assume responsibility for all JR warranty and non-warranty repairs.JR Americas Dealer inquires can be directed to our sales department at:

I'm not far from doing the same!

my 11X has been acting up lately (onscreen voltage fluctuates between 9.0 and 10.5v so fast and often the low battery alarm constantly goes of) and with all the changes, it may just be time to go back to.. ughhh.. Futaba or just bite the bullet and pickup a spektrum or Jeti system.

What and Ever....... Who the hell is "JR America " ??? Where do they live ??? Are they real people ??? This sounds like a bunch of Crapola... " JR America " showed up at JOK a couple of years ago, I was there, and didn't see crap. I heard they were there and walked around and handed out cards and talked, but they had no product, no anything... Does anybody know a name or face we might recognize??? I don't get it....

Dan,

Its JR Americas, they are on the web: JR Americas The managing director is Len Sabato (https://www.linkedin.com/in/len-sabato-61b62a91/).
I don't know him personally, but he has been around the hobby a long time...

Technically, I think that the JR DMSS stuff is really good and I've *always* used JR servos in all my jets - in spite of the fact that I use Futaba TXs and RXs. If I was deep into using JR equipment and was worried about availability of parts and service, I'd give Len a call...

Spektrum has too many quality problems. JR is not viable as a long term company. Weatronics went belly up. I now fly Jeti.

Tom,

Rumor I'm sure.. But I heard that Jeti has filed one of those chapters you do when you go broke... I'm not sure how that works,.. I don't even think they are in the U.S....

Somebody said that at Mississippi Jets... Not even sure who it was.. I didn't pay much attention because I am not a Jeti dude. I wouldn't hold too much stock in it, however it was a two way conversation between a couple of guys.. I would try and find out fron someone " In the know "...

i personally would never buy anything from the chec republic when russisa has their hand in the cookie jar. a product is only as good as the company making them. I'll hold out with JR. these same rumors came around a few years ago with futaba . so next month spektrum will be going out . :-)

The Jeti DC/DS-24 radios won the Best New RC Product 2017 at the SEFF in Georgia.
This is much more valuable award due to only RC pilots casting they voices.

Jeti has a very fine radio, no doubt (just got one and it's REALLY my cup of tea), however awards are one thing - financial solvency is another.

With the instability in the hobby market at an all-time high, one can only be concerned when such rumors get bantered about.

Zb - Can you comment as to Jeti Model S.R.O.'s publicly declared solvency?

As for me - I't won't change my purchasing habits. Esprit has stuff I need in stock ; will buy it and hope for the best. Craps out? well, it's kind of like the likelihood of crashing a plane at any given outing; you just have to be prepared for that eventuality.

I've got to say that the Czech's have appeared to be quite a clever lot and have produced some fine engineering here and there. No strikes against that.

And, re-structuring sometimes is a valid financial tool - IF implemented correctly and ethically...just never seems to be (but then good news/no news isn't dramatic or "fun" is it?)

Hilarious. Why on earth should they/he?
Because some armchair rumour-monger on RCU demands it...?!

No sir - you misunderstand me.

This is an opportunity for him to dispel any such rumors. I, personally think Jeti is doing fine and will continue to support them. I'm a fan. And, I'm a fan of how he's promoting his product with videos, tons of literature and written work, etc. Rarely is so much information available for a given product from the manufacturer and distributor.

BTW - the information should be available on the web with some intense searching, but he needs the opportunity to defend himself, yes?

I'm not "demanding" anything and will let this one go.
