I sure miss JR. When JR started having problems I purchased a JETI radio as I was worried about lack of JR support. I have never felt more in charge of my jet flying the DMSS JR system and dont have the warm fuzzies about the JETI yet. I sure hope JR eventually gets their ***** together and produces enough products to assemble a complete system. I wont purchase RXs and XBus hubs without the ability to get the servo connectors.

I'm flying my jets with my 28x and receivers I've had. I don't x buss. I use the 11 channel powersafe units. I will be using. Y 28x for a long time happily.

I'm the opposite. I'm converting almost anything I have with more than 7 channels to XBus. The system is just fantastic once you get the hang of it.

I currently have 4 models programmed into my XG14 and would like to convert 2 to xbus. Can you have 2 on xbus and the other 2 non xbus in the transmitter?

Yes. You set them up by model.

Joel,
Take a look at the Xbus video on the JR Americas web site. It leads you through then Xbus setup.

FYI- if you go to the JRAmericas.com site you'll see that NX8931 and NX8935 servos are in stock now- I just picked up 4 of the NX8931 servos and they are really nice.

Dumb question: If you have a XG14 Tx and want all 14 channels operational using Xbus, which JR Xbus Rx do you need? I don't see a 14-channel Xbus Rx on JR Americas, or the UK's Macgregor site either. I guess there are a load of Xbus leads needed too, but it's the Rx requirement I want to understand first.

Any Xbus Rx will work when run through the Xbus port. I personally use the 712 as it was available when I converted to Xbus. To do that though you will need a hub of some sort

Thanks Tom. So any of the Xbus Rx's , even a 7 channel one, will pass all 14 channels into one or more hubs to drive 14 servo functions?

Yes, you will need an Xbus hub such as XB-1 or 2 and the connectors for your servos. I use the Xport Duo (discontinued). Watch the Xbus video on the JR website for the "big picture"

Thanks again Tom. I did view the JR Americas video before my original post but didn't find it immediately helpful re my question about Rx requirements. it didn't help that all the ailerons and flaps just did the same movement. Now that I know that any old Xbus Rx (plus hubs) will do the job, and having downloaded and studied the manuals from the JR website, I have a fairly good idea of how an Xbus setup works. The kind of plane I was thinking of was a P-38, which of course has two flaps, an aileron, an engine, a rudder and a retract unit on each side of the centreline. And I haven't mentioned elevator. Xbus would really ease equipping such a model, not that I'm building a '38, but it'd make a nice project! Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for sharing your video WB1. I found it helped me a lot in demystifying xbus, and I apologise for taking so long to come back to you.
Kind regards
Gordon

Is there any news about JR's production? Have they shut down everything or not?

We had another delivery of Rxs last week. The range is still limited, but they are working on a few new things

They really need to work on connectors from hubs to servos. You can get rx, servos, hubs but no connectors

According to a post made on Facebook (someone posted an email from Mr Mooney) the 28X is no more and no more updates as the engineer left.

IF true, that is very sad! I would like to see the letter myself.

JR should make the 28X firmware/programming open source so development can continue. If the letter is true, then they really have nothing to lose by doing so, and can keep this incredible radio alive.
