Default General Tx Rx Choices

Just curious as to what is mostly used now days by fellow modelers. There will always be a mine is better than yours war and I am NOT interested in that.

Just place your MOSTLY used or multiple systems and lets see what it comes out at.

Again no back and forth and really do not need opinions just a poll vote.

Trying to get Fuatba added but RCU is not letting me

SORY, RCU will not let me edit the poll for Futaba and Airtronics to be added , RCU is Not what it used to be for sure.

At the events its clearly dominated by spektrum although this whole receiver mess and now the DX20 mess has allot of us pretty upset.

They stopped making one type receiver to release another then recalled it.... So many of us had to scramble and go through hell to try and get a receiver before Florida jets. Also I saw 3 planes go in with DX18s. Jack Diaz has his transmitter turn off and back on while in flight resulting in the loss of his F86 that has been flown year after year at events including topgun. Then my friend George lost an ME262 in a certain spot on the field. He thought it was the plane then lost radio contact with his aviation design diamond the next day in the same exact spot. I am guessing his RF board is bad.

Spektrum better get their act together because allot of us are making a mass exit. If I had the money I would be flying Jeti for sure despite their marketing that I don't like. When it comes to the best radio system its it. I will never go back to Futaba while the RF link was great they suck ass at updating and bringing new stuff to the market. Also didn't care for how they ignored Kingtech when the factory was trying to get with them for telemetry on the new engines. Looks like the factory figured out their protocol anyway so that will be good for futaba users.

Currently using 2 DX18s. One for me and one for my son. So all this is from a DX18 user and a former Futaba user.

I now fly Jeti but my heart is with JR. Loyal JR user for over 20 years and NEVER HAD ONE PROBLEM. DMSS IS BULLETPROOF. However, the lack of words and availability of equipment from JR scares me. I have 3 projects on the bench and no way to get JR equipment for them so I moved to Jeti. I just flew at the first fly in with my Jeti equipment this weekend and had good results. Learning a new system is a bit of a challenge but having reliable and serviceable equipment is paramount.

I have a JR XG-14 with 4 Rx's, XPort Duo and some telemetry modules for sale on the radio for sale page if anyone is interested. The whole package only, wont sell just the Rx's.

Futaba 12FG. In at least ten seasons of using this radio I have never had a single glitch of any kind on jets, helicopters, electrics or anything else it has been used on. Not to say I haven't had crashes. All the crashes are definitely dumb pilot errors.

Was jr/Specktrum but had a couple incidents after years of good use. Sold all old dsm2 and now use JR DMSS. Likening my XG14 so far. But have heard some good things about the new graupner system so l bought a 24 pro to mess around with. When I get back fom my honeymoon I will throw some recievers in my trainer and test it out.

You know there is all this talk about radio's I like the Kiss method. Buy and fly the one you like and feel confident in and also understand how to use it Period!! They are all good and they all will have their own separate problems, recalls. With a little time they get corrected. I wouldn't run every time and switch just because a company is having a issue that I am sure they there are correcting it. If you do you will find yourself holding nothing and never flying. I see that a lot. It's not limited to just radios either. Now don't get me wrong there is some companies that can not never get it right or support the customers in the right way. We all know those and know to avoid them.

I personally have flown Futaba before 2.4 and I got back into the hobby. I gravitated at the time to Spektrum because I understood it the best on how to use it. I have used Hobby king 49.00 10 channels before with not issue in large gassers, not turbines. The point buy what you can afford and get the most out of it. don't buy because someone told you it's the best or the only one that will work.

Just think if you did that about the car you drive. If you applied the same thinking to it. You would never go anywhere.

The car can kill much faster than any RC radio.

18mz, I have tried others but futaba is my favorite. They are slow on new things but they make good stuff. Telemetry is slow but they are getting there, I would suspect the next flag ship radio will have most of the telemetry stuff. Only thing I care about it fuel telemetry, the rest is just fluff for me.
thought about Jeti but it's to expensive to switch and they need work on how they market.

It's the USA importer that you don't like, not Jeti. Jeti doesn't come on these forums.

Futaba for me. I first had a SkySport 6, then a 9c (upgraded later with a Spektrum module), next a 12fg and most recently an 18sz.

I also had a DX6i for a time; it came with a Blade 400 and felt cheap and boxy compared to my Futaba. I also had to modify the gimballs on the DX6i because they felt too long.

I also run Futaba on surface race vehicles (they make a good surface stick radio).

That all being said, I'm disappointed with the limited telemetry options and functionality, along with the high cost. I've been considering migrating to Jeti, but don't want to order a $1500 transmitter before I can feel it in my hands.

Futaba 2.4 since Futaba got into the 2.4 game. I was Futaba 72 before that, and Airtronics before that when I was heavily into slope and glider stuff as a kid in coastal cali and even owned a Kraft radio in the early 80's. Never ever had one glitch or loss of control on Futaba. I've had many friends experience a lot of grief with lost frames, brown outs and loss of control crashes. I'm so glad I've never been in that position. I am extremely careful on radio setup and positioning of receiver and antennas as well as how I route my cables and servo wires. That hearkens back to my days of flying electric ducted fans on 72 mhz in the 90's and early 00's. Perhaps that has kept me out of trouble more than Futaba actually has - but still, I can't blame Futaba for any negative experience, ever and credit their products both in hardware and software for a robustness that has never let me down.

I have to admit, I am still very interested in the new Jeti products. This is in spite of some of the negative forum blasting that has gone on.
