I sold mine and now regret it. I never had to worry about a tip over and the low profile fit in with my gear perfectly, its a shame......

Check with Grainger I got one that is about 2 1/2 gallon with a wide mouth for filling that is a wide short can. I'll get a picture nest time I go outside

I'm currently using this one with no problems after over a year.

Glad this thread came about, as I've been on the hunt for the same. I don't mind using a funnel to fill from a Jet-A pump with the larger nozzle, but the typical 5 gallon jugs with their angled mouth sucks for that. I like the 5 gallon wide mouth racing jugs, but they are about 1" too tall to fit under the tonneau cover on my pickup truck.

50 bucks for a 5 gallon jug. Yikes. But maybe that explains the Jersey modeler prices.

Too bad they don't make them clear anymore, I like to see how much fuel is left.

FWIW:

In my area of the country they will not let me fill up anything but approved kero jug which is blue at the pump, sorta like the red gas can.

The amazon link doesn't seem to work and the us plastics says it is not for fuel and oil.

C/F do you know if those aquarium cans will hold up to fuel as far as the seal that is on the cap?

I have no clue but doubt its any better than blue water camping jugs in walmart, I just thought Id post the original intent is a water jug and cost $20 not $50.

Just use google image search.

Search for things like "stackable 5 gallon jug" and look at the pictures. Google uses machine learning, deep neural networks and the results are quite remarkable. I thought they just searched for meta data or tags, no no

Having been in plastics for 35 years, the water style or stackables look to be just blow molded HDPE where as fuel jugs are multi layers for permeation and UV. Here is a decent setup I found, however wrong color, There is also a 6 gal version I seen but have not found where to purchase.

I went to my local fish store yesterday, they did not have that same blue one but they had a more clear style 5 gallon jug. Has a wide mouth though I'm not sure if it's wide enough for a Jet-A nozzle (anyone know the width off hand?), but at least the mouth is flat on top of the can instead of at an angle. Pretty thin HDPE, but if it can hold the weight of 5 gallons of water it can hold 5 gallons of fuel. And it was only 14 bucks, so if it doesn't work out, so be it.

Jet-A nozzles are 2.6" across. Some are round and others are a smaller diameter round tubes that are flattened to a minimum of 2.5" across to prevent them from working on avgas aircraft.

The water jug on the nemo link looks like it would work and hold up to petroleum fuels. If a soda bottle works as a gas tank so will this water jug. For $20 its worth a try.

The problem you may run into with that type of jug is gasket in the cap. It may swell up when it comes in contact with kero or jet fuel. I know some "O" rings will swell if not the correct type. Had to go to viton "O" rings

I have ran into the same problems with the water jugs and the cap O-ring swelling from the fuel. The only other option would be to try and replace the gasket with something compatible with fuel
