I’ve got one week of waiting down..... wonder how many I have to go. I used EMS shipping wonder how much longer that adds to the wait?

EMS is still airfreight...I’m guessing it depends what time of the year it’s....so how long it’s waiting to get aboard the crossing flight, if your delivery is after the Chinese New Year.....don’t be in a rush, they are overwhelmed with packages, so that big box is not moving until......

Technically, it's always after the Chinese New year. I hope being almost exactly six months before and after will work in our favor!

The first two were DHL, the last was EMS. EMS is not that slow like they used to be, Dirk called me and explained that the factory has figured out that driving the boxes to a different post office gets them shipped much faster. My last one sent via EMS only took 6 days including customs.

Got my wing and fuse bags today, boy this is a “mini” plane but it’s about what I expected. I was hoping there was a spot in the wing bags for the stabs but unless I’m looking at them wrong I don’t think there is. The bags are nice and heavy duty and seem be really nice quality.

It’s my first turbine as well, we only have one other guy in our club that flys a turbine, but now hopefully I’ll have mine and we have two other guys interested so we might have 4 pilots soon.

I ordered my reciever yesterday, I had planned to use it to test run my k70 but it turns out it’s on back order until possibly the second week of August... more waiting.

Anyone having any problems with the landing gear retracting? The retracts on my first T1 mini work perfectly, this newest one I bought I had to replace the motor on one of the mains (it now works well) and I also had to replace the nose gear motor, but it's still not working reliably (does not retract or extend all the way consistently). I suppose it's possible that I got two bad motors...I'm using the Xicoy controller on both jets with the same motor cut-off settings...I tried it with the factory controller and it does the same thing so I'm not thinking its the Xicoy controller...?

Nose gear has a ton of play, but maybe this is normal for 40 flights off grass. When new one of the mains would pause 1/2 way while closing, maybe 25% of the time. Took it apart and the mechanism was butter smooth, no issues. I added a bit of grease to everything and it has been fine ever since. My newest issue is binding in the pins on the leg of one of the mains so it wont extend all the way. So when retracting it wont fit in the wheel well. Press the pins out, clean it up and it works for awhile. I think the fit is way too tight.

Thanks, mine was butter smooth as well, I'll try a little grease and see if that helps.

I got two more flights on mine last weekend. It just doesn't want to track. Feel like I need to trim through the whole flight.. I moved the CG back after the first two flights to see if that would help, (it was borderline nose heavy). I put an igyro in Sunday night, be a few weeks before I get to fly it again. My mini-avanti flew better than my big Avanti, so I don't think its a size issue.... I maidened my Havoc SS after the two flights on the mini T1.... Damn, it flies well! Left me with perma grin after every flight.

I had some tracking issues with mine the first couple of flights too, but I played around with the CG and now it tracks straight except for it pulls a little towards the canopy in a long knife edge. I would not say it flies better than it's bigger brother but certainly does not fly worse either. I'm using a Powerbox SRS with the integrated igyro. I have turned the gyro off a couple of times in flight, it still flies well, but I can definitely tell the difference with and without the gyro. Sounds like you have some other jets to fly while you tweak this one, which is always a great position to be in

I have an update on the use of the Xicoy LGC15 retract/brake controller. I have two T1 mini airframes with the factory retracts and the Xicoy LGC15 retract/brake controller, I have both configured exactly the same (e.g. cutoff amperage etc.). My first T1 mini has 22 flights and the retracts/brakes are working great, except about every 3-4 flights one of the main gear fails to fully retract, which requires toggling of the gear in flight, a minor nuisance but nothing major. My second T1 mini has been very problematic getting the gear to work consistently and during this process I have managed to fry three retract motors trying to get the nose retract to work reliably. The good news is that I think I figured out the problem. On a hunch I checked the output voltage on the factory controller and found that the factory controller regulates the output voltage to the retract motor at 7.5 volts. The LGC15 Xicoy controller does not regulate the output voltage to the retract, you get whatever voltage you put into the controller, which in my case is 8.4 volts (2S LiPo). So, I put one of the those Castle Creations 10 AMP regulators inline to the LGC15 controller to limit the input voltage to 7.5 volts (and subsequently the output voltage to 7.5v) and the nose gear is now working perfectly. What I cannot figure out is why my other T1 mini (without a regulator) has been working for 22 flights with no fried retract motors? If anyone has any ideas I all ears

How come you are using the Xicoy controller instead of the factory one?

Tipp22 great info thank you! I’m installing the xicoy controller in the new T1 F16. I used the controller on the B2 I built and loved it. So sounds like it works great with a LIFE battery. I hate lipos anyway.
