CARF Joker build thread

My Feedback: (11)

I balanced mine at about 180 with about 20% of fuel in the tank. After a few flights like that I even moved my 2100 ecu battery from inside the nosecone to the tray under the canopy. That is how I fly it to this day. In my link you can see mine landing pretty slowly even with a k100. I was surprised at how slow it could fly during my initial testing but it is no Havoc or Tomahawk Sabre

Well my Joker was test flown. The balance was spot on, the elevator did not feel too sensitive. However, my elevator compensation for flaps down was not enough. We had to add loads of down trim to get it set correctly. Ended up with 10mm down with full flaps and 4mm down with takeoff flaps.
Unfortunately, I had a really bad landing and damage the model. I'm too pissed off to fix it. I may pull it apart and use the parts for another model. I put it in the attic while I think about this.

Sorry to hear that. Did you have flight modes set in your transmitter?

Sorry for that ...suck!!! , you can order replacement parts from Carf ..I think so.

Goodday fellow pilots
I ordered the green pnp joker.
What is the diameter of the wheels of the pnp version? I am planning to install the K85, is a 300ft grass field sufficient?
And last, the macgregor servo's doing the job well?
Thank you!

All of our are using the MacGregor servos with a Powerbox, so 5.9v They seem happy with that or 6.6 Li-fe

Hey guys, I just sent my turbine in for its 25hr service, all done in the Joker. while the engine is away I am doing some maintenance stuff. Please feel free to suggest things I should be checking/inspecting during this time. The one thing I do want to ask about is the pipe. My inner pipe is moving around inside the outer pipe. has anyone come across this issue? I forgot to mention this is the stock CARF pipe for the Joker. There is a spring that is surrounding the inner pipe that when new was keeping the inner pipe dead center with no movement. I don't know what changed but the spring no longer holds the inner pipe center and the inner pipe bounces around freely. any suggestions/comments/ideas are welcomed.

My one still has not many flights, not centered on the outer pipe but spring seems doing some job even if - as told - inner is more close to outer on one side. But this is from day 0 and still good.

Hi, in the mean time, I did a dozen flights not and the K85 is the perfect match for my Joker.
Plane flies so good that I’m starting to feel comfortable on this jet.
The only thing I’m still having problems with is the elevator to flaps mixer…… there is so much down needed to prevent the pitch up.
What is the elevator movement that you are using to compensate for the flaps?
kind Regards,
Eric

I’m interested to see how many down elevator is used at full flaps, and I heard that a lot is needed.
once spoke a Joker pilot, and he told me 8-10mm. 8mm is what I’m using, but it still seems not enough🤔

Do you use Conditions? Most powerful part of Futaba systems. Set 3 identical conditions where everything is the same except the elevator trim is independent and conditions change with flap switch. Take off, trim elevator, go to mid flap and trim elevator, go to landing flap and trim elevator. Don't have to guess on mix ever again.
