Default loose exhaust pipe experience ?

Hello gang,

has any of you had the exhaust pipe become loose during flight ? ( rear support mounts on last rear frame holding the pipe broke free allowing a few degrees free move )

If yes, how was it ? Uncontrollable or you didn't notice the difference ?
Thank you in advance for this valuable feedback!

The OEM Pipe on my Ultra Flash kept flattening the centering tabs at the rear end of the pipe. The end result is the outlet moves about 1/4" up and down from center. I don't know if the movement was connected to several stalls that inexplicably occurred at half speed or not. But this winter I took the pipe out and repositioned the tabs so the inner pipe is much more stable. I would think the pipe would have been self centering on the straights and vectoring a bit with Elev and Rudd.

At our Jet Rallies, I have seen one pipe "squirt almost entirely out the back and one come out only a few inches. Both planes landed O.K. If I recall correctly, the one with the squirted pipe had some fire damage though. I have since come to the conclusion that a loose pipe = no flight.

On my bandit, I noticed, by accident mind you, that the rear end of my pipe was not secured and it would move up and down about 1/4"!

And this was discovered by accident. There is no counting how many times I flew like this and I don't recall any real changes to the flight characteristics of the jet.

Pretty much the same feedback from me, I found the pipe pretty loose on the rear end on my Viper. I think it had been loose for a few flights, I forgot to fix it and went flying with no change. I'm fixing it tomorrow .....
