Idle figure of 0.7 is a little higher than I expected. Maybe as the system settles the figure will reduce to 0.6v. Overflow on tanks is large enough and overflow pipes not over long or small?

Other bits arrived?

After first flying session do a video again of the GSU display.

So, after some use, you don’t have to do anything for now.

Thanks Dave. Yes, the blink of an eye and lots of changes on a personal level but the model flying/building has remained a constant source of enjoyment as always. 160 Not too far away now!

Just ordered a 130 last night to replace an old P120...this will be my 5th JC. However, I cant recall if the newer engines come with the FOD screen or not? If not, I'll need to add one to the order....thanks!

You need to add one. It also needs a little mod on the fuel hole inside. It’s the same FOD as the P-100 and the hole is offset a few mm. I Dremel a taper on the inside and the pipe will then offset without any kink.

Thanks, Dave! I just added it to my order. WRT the modification, I believe it may be the same thing I had to do with my P-140 RXi with the newer style of molded FOD screens.

The very latest 80/90/120/140/160/180 type have a rotating centre disc So the notches can be indexed.
I guess the 100 size will go the same way eventually, but the mould cost is huge!

I'm sure it is, and they may never sell enough to offset the costs.

Default ECU battery

Gsu only gives an option for 3s Lipo on v12.0.. and it shows low batt on 2s. So is it ok to operate on 3s lipo or have to go for 3s lifepo4?

Hi Dave.

I am swapping out my Cheetah SE for a new 130RX in my Ultraflash. Planning to order this today. With the Cheetah I was running a 3S Lipo. Can the Jetcat ECU handle the voltage of a 3S Lipo or do I have to go 2S?
thanks,

With the V12.0 ECU you can run 3s Li-Po no problem. When you select Li-Po it automatically comes up 3s. The motor will come set for 3s Li-Fe.

Thanks Dave!

How is the Jetcat Oil? I have never used it but was thinking about ordering some with the engine.
Thanks,

It was developed by them, all the testing is done with their oil, many many thousands of litres. Perfect choice for their turbine.

My new P130RX arrived today and there was no manual in the box. After a bit or searching on line I finally found an RX manual in English but its dated October 15 2010 and its for version 10 ECU. I have version 12. Whats the difference just the telemetry? I wanted to see what version of software was on it before installing it into my jet. If I have to do an update I want to do that now. Any advice on how to tell what version software I have? I am connecting things up now and perhaps it will tell me when I boot up.
Thanks,

OK everything's hooked up looks like I have ECU V 12.4 and Engine V8.1. I think that is the latest. Is that correct?
Thanks,

Yes, manual is pretty much the same except the battery selection and telemetry.
Pretty sure that’s the latest software.

I have everything installed in my Flash but I can't get the electronics powered up. I learned RC and said all my parameters before installing the equipment and everything was working fine. When I plug in the GSU it lights up but there's just a black bar across the screen no information. I've tried everything I can think of. I have one last crazy thing I could try but after that I'm out of ideas

I am at a loss here. I pulled everything out of the jet. Checked all connections, switched ports on the IO board, tried it with and without the aux power, switched batteries, switched phone cable on GSU, tried both ports on the GSU, switched receivers. Nothing. The only sign of life I get is when I pulled the cable from the turbine. Then the IO board flashed red. This sucks!

The throttle cable in definitely in the correct slot and negative wire on out side of case?
Green light on ECU is on when you try and power it?
