Default MKS DS 1220 servo feedback

I prefer to use A123s in my jets. This LiFe servo is supposedly designed to be powered by these batteries. Any on put from users as to how they perform would be appreciated.

I’m not 100% sure but the a123 batters are older technology than life and they work the same but the a123 are much likely to failure because of they design the layers of the foil is wrapped super tight and some time they crack doing they cycle when charge an if this happens depending where is the crack they losses they capacity ,the life batteries have flat cells so they could expand and shrink doing the using cycle ,I have some problems with the original a123 batteries before and witnessed two crashes because of the a123 type battery failure ,I’m not using Lipo’s ,but some of my jets still have the 6.6 v a123 and now I’m in process to replace them little by little with the life type batteries,as the mks servos they are very good and they work the same one both types of batteries.

Never heard this. I have been using Electrodynamics A123s for many years and never had a single problem.

And me too and this is the only brand I’m still using, but they are little bit newer than the original a123 cels , but the culinary design is going to be pushed over by flat cells design they just better.

I have been using MKS DS 1220 LiFe servos for almost three years now in a number of models: BVM F-4, Ziroli/Robart P-47, TF Giant P-40 and currently installing them in a CARF Corsair. The servos have functioned flawlessly in all of my applications. I have several friends using these servos in similar applications as well. They are a very powerful and precise servo (the LiFe version is actually more powerful than the HV version according to MKS). I use 2 cell LiFe batteries in all my models and run the 1220s through a PowerBox Mercury with input from a JR 12X transmitter.

Kinda funny that they refer to this as a "LiFe Servo". Just another way of saying it's rated for 6.6V (which they also say). It's not like the electrons coming out of an A123 battery are different or something.
