Thanks jvaliensi! After some additional research, it turns out my gear is slightly off by 10mm in length on the nose and mains. Nose is about 10mm short, which would be easy to add a spacer or just leave as is. On the mains, they are 10mm too long, but I can easily cut the length down to fit. I think it's safe to say I can use the gear I currently have with some slight mods. The gear originally came from the Banana Hobbies MB339, which I most recently due to a flameout. If I go this route for a new sport jet I'd use this gear and install my K70G2.

I have all the pieces in place, except the battery. I put the portly beast on the scale and it weighed 11.5 lbs! Without fuel or a battery.
I wonder why mine is heavier than Bob B's? I've basically copied him, with an X45, HAB pipe and I had Carlos make a 1.2L lightweight tank. I guess the weight difference can be from the molding of the composite parts.

Got my Jet yesterday. In transit it got bashed pretty darn good across the sticker that say fragile, just my luck......

what does the jet look like ? Hopefully you rejected the delivery. That’s what carf told me I was supposed to do, inspect the whole thing inside and out before allowing driver to leave and since I didn’t do that they couldn’t file a claim with OD

Side note: a buddy of mine just received a hummingbird from global jet club via fed ex the other day. The box was perfect, it was boxed way better than the rebel ,The box is thicker and It delivered regular fed ex truck. Same relative dimensions as the rebel box or
just a bit bigger maybe , Just saying .

Good news is the jet is PERFECT! Going with a K70 G2 I have already and SV-1261MG all around. If I could have found sufficient stock I would have used the 1250 everywhere but the flaps, and 1260's in the flaps.

If you live close to an Old Dominion Freight Lines terminal you can call them and have them hold it for Will Call and it won't be put on a delivery truck which is most likely where it was bashed, and you can go pick it up yourself.... That is who CARF uses in the US. Then you can unbox it right on the spot in front of them.

The last model I got from CARF was shipped Old Dominion FL. The box was covered in dust and absolutely filthy. The box had minor damage but the contents were okay.
I don't know why the box was so dirty - was it shipping or from the CARF warehouse?

BTW - I love the new color scheme!

How would you guys compare this Reble Hot to the harlock 140 viper as far as flight quality, bad behaviors, etc? I am wanting a smaller jet that i can leave assembled and load in my vehicle. Both will fit. I was thinking the x45 for this or the viper, but looking at the k70g4 for the rebel.

Buddy of mine has the k-45 in his. I have the 70. I only have 5 flights on mine and still getting use to it. It does get small quick when it’s away from you. That’s why I’m going to put some unilights in it.

the plane flies great , like a bigger jet IMO. Haven’t seen any bad habits out of it. Not much different in speed between the 2 engines, but the 70 has more ooomph for vertical etc. like always just have to manage the throttle on landing. Keep it light and simple. Everyone I know that has one loves it. Seems to be the go to. Either engine seems fine.

haven’t flown the harlock, but another friend had one and a JTM. Said the JTM flew a lot better. I would go Rebel all day long, but it is 3-4 x’s more expensive than the harlock. But worth it.

noticed you said harlock 140. Not sure about that one.

imo, takes a little extra effort to build light enough for the 45, but a good option if you want a super floater.
I have In 85 mine. If you're an experienced pilot it's a HOOT! Definitely takes throttle management, but even with the 85 it weighs less at take off than my hsd viper did dry. Same size/wing area. It's a floater compared to the viper.

I have both and both fly very well. I have a k45 in my viper and k60 in my rebel hot. The viper is faster hands down. The rebel hot lands a little slower than the viper and the rebel does fly like it is much bigger than it is. You can’t go wrong with either choice. If you don’t mind paying up then go with the rebel. If you want to be about $1000 cheaper than go with the viper.

i haven’t experienced any bad habits, I’ve flown it pretty slow on landing approach with nose high. I really like it

‘Is it possible that the difference is due to painted in mold versus painted out of mold?

I thought maybe there are weight differences out of the mold, may mine has more epoxy in it.
The only other difference I can think of is wire, perhaps Bob used less than me.
But its only a 1/2-lbs or about a 5% difference between Bob's and mine.
