Default Expectrum X-plus.

Has anyone encountered having chl 13 to chl 18 getting power but no signal.

The radio is a QQ DX18 with a AR20310T.

Tks.

Hello Carlos,
Did you go into system set up, select frame rate, then activate X plus? They should work now.

I did, xplus 1 and 2 works just fine, 3 to 8 won't move a thing but they get power, connected a servo to xplus 3 to 8 to confirm that.

The interesting part is that xplus 1 to 8 are activated all at the same time.

When I go to the xplus display window it shows that xplus 3 is working, so on the radio xplus is working fine but the receiver did not get the memo to activate all of them.

Thank you for the suggestions.

I got a reply from Andy ( spectrum support ) on the radio support page.

Sounds like the same issue I had with my DX18 and AR20310T. I even sent the receiver to Horizon for service. They sent it back saying there was nothing wrong with it, and no further instructions.

Since ch 11 is X1 and 12 is X2, I expected ch 13 to be X3...BUT NO! Ch 13 is also X1, 14 is also X2, if you want X3 you need to plug into15; 16 is X4, and so on to 20 being X8. Go figure. This is not covered anywhere in the instructions. It took posting in the radio forum and a bunch of playing around to figure it out.

Spektrum needs to update their manual. Also they do an overall poor job in many respects on the instructions that come with their components.

That's exactly what I was told, I was also told that the radio may have a bug and will have to update the software to v2.01 to get the fix.

I'm at v2.01 for the TX, and v1.6.45 for the RX. Once I got plugged into the correct numerical channel everything worked fine.

I won't find out till Thursday which software version the radio and receiver have, but suspect they will need to be updated to the latest software version.

One thing is for sure, I've learned a lot about Spectrum radios in the last week.

Is this the page that shows the software version on the transmitter? if so, then I'm looking at V1.00, correct?

Yes, you're at v1.00.

Also when you first turn on, or turn off your TX, the version number is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen for about 1 second.

If you haven't already, you need to go to https://www.spektrumrc.com/MyAccount...2fDefault.aspx
and set up a "My Spektrum" account in order to register and update your TX and RX.

Yep, that's dinosaur egg old Carlos

Export that SN to the SD Card and use it to register, its pretty tedious to type it in and get it correct, you have the option to upload it from a card or local file during registration

Copy that! "Dinosaur's egg" that is funny and true at the same time.

This radio goes with the KC that I'm refurbishing for a friend, he hasn't been able to keep up with the updates, I knew that because I had asked him a few months ago.

I finally got the SD card and I also had to get an SD card reader with a USB adapter in orser to get the job done, my laptops don't have card slots, about $25 for both at BB.

Thank you to all for the suggestions.

It would have been better if the RX was marked X+1 through X+8 instead of 13-20. I think we have all been through this.

Agreed, I hope Spektrum designers have learned from this inconvenience.

I suspect that the channel assignments are different with a DX-20 Tx. They could easily save themselves and their customers lot of grief with a simple explanation in the next printing of the manual that comes with the Rx.
