From my understanding the BVM is lighter for its size and more scale, it also includes the under-belly airbrake, a smoke system, scale retracts and a brighter lighting system. It also seems faster and more nimble maybe due to its size and weight.
The Baja L-39 is a little bigger and although it still has a good scale representation of panel lines and rivets etc, id class it as sports scale - it forgoes some scale features to make it just a pleasant simple weekly flyer to own and maintain.

If you have the money the Carf, Tomahawk or BVM L-39 seems to be a beautiful representation of the real jet, however for what we pay the Baja L-39 is still an outstanding looking and flying model.
It’s very easy and enjoyable to fly and land, built very strong, parts are cheap and the large size give it a lot of presence at the field.
