Curious if you all do anything extra to attach the vertical stabilizer besides just the tube and leading edge bolt? The bolt holds my vertical down in the front but it’s not seating in the back half , not even close , I have a gap of almost a 1/4 inch . I can force it down with pressure and hold it down but it pops back up . I wanted to keep it removable but may have to hysol it in place permanently

My Rebel Max showed up last night. I'm going to set it up the exact same as the Pro. I don't know if y'all want me to put the build process in this thread so I probably won't but, the only difference in cost when this is finished was the plane itself. All other components will be exactly the same as if I were putting it in a Pro. By the way, holy cow is this plane HUGE. It's quantity two of my wife!
Components:
Kingtech K235G4
PowerBox Mercury SRS w/ GPS
2 x Futaba 7108 RX's
Futaba 9177 Servos running @ 7.4 V
Electron ER50 retracts w/ GS-200 controller
5L fuel tank (may change to CMJets)
Futaba 32MZ
I can't even put the wings on in the house!

How about starting a new thread on this? I'd like to see that and maybe others would jump in with a thread on the Max.

my buddy has a rebel pro coming and I would like to help him remotely... he is in Utah and I am in Illinois... looking for a manual that I can look at to discuss things with him while under construction..

Yeah, I don't believe there's much more than a 3 page manual to any of the Rebel airplanes. I can say, though, that assembly is very straight forward. There are a few nuances but the main thing is assemble for CG which should be at the back of the wing tube. The Rebel does have a decent CG range but I've heard that's the sweet spot. The manual I got was just little tips about assembling. Definitely no pictures or step by step but I don't think your friend will need it. Y'all could always use Zoom so you can see what he's working on.

he is looking to buy some stuff in advance of the plane's arrival.... servo horns for instance.... can you let me know the lengths needed? Does the plane come with hardware and if so is it any good?

I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you exactly how long you'd need but, hopefully, that points you in the right direction. A little too long is no issue on these airplanes for sure. In fact, I wound up buying 38mm arms and they work perfectly for the Max. CARF recommended 30mm so there's some room for you.

Did the Maiden on my Rebel Pro a few weeks ago and it flys awesome ! It’s almost too easy to fly. It slows to a crawl with full flaps.
Kingtech K180g4+ For power. Dry weight came in at 35.5 lbs.

Thanks guys!
Definitely not Dave! I think most people would only fly foamies there lol. But it’s what we got and try to to make the best of it. Unfortunately the surrounding trees are outside of the land and no permission to cut down. My every Sunday flier is my BVM bandit mkII since 2014. But I think the Rebel took its place now! The Bandit seems to be a bit more challenging to land there compared to the Pro.

If someone has a chance, I need some pictures of the flap clevis/ball link setup and how they hook up to the horn/servo arms (and which ones to use). There are two silver clevis-type connectors that were in a separate bag in the wing parts bag. I'm assuming they go on the flap control horn. Detailed pictures of your linkage would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Scott

Would you have time to post just a couple of pictures of your setup on one wing? I understand what to do but want to make certain I get this correct. I really appreciate it.

I don't have any pics of that atm, but i used the silver clevis's on the aileron servo arms, and a ball link bolted to the dual composite control horns in ailerons. In my hardware package for the wing i only had two of the silver clevis's, and on mine when the ball linked is bolted to the flap control horn if you did have a clevis for the servo arm it would be angled instead of a straight shot. But a ball link bolted to the flap servo arm created a straight pushrod in my case if that makes sense.

I had some spare 3mm ball link from Carf so I put ball link on both ends. On the ailerons there’s a slight misalignment but nothing to worry about IMO. What I did do is these ball links have the spacer made on to them so the side that went up against the servo horn I filed that side down to have the ball link come closer to the arm.
