Jet Man

Something different but jet related.
Earlier this week the Times did an article on the jet fighter proposed by Frank Whittle in 1938 which was news to me, even though I have read extensively on jet engine development. It showed the side view, not pretty, all engine, but functional and could have had great effect during the Blitz on London.
I had a Zoom meeting with Sir Frank’s son, Ian, this morning when I raised this issue, wanting more info. on it .
Ian suggested I get a copy of a new book, Jet Man which has details. He was highly complimentary about the book, ( and be probably knows more than anyone about the difficult times endured by his father) with exceptional and very detailed and accurate details of jet engine development.
So, anyone looking for a good read with a jet connection during this lockdown period, this might be just the ticket.
Just look on Amazon, for JET MAN.
