David,
I would fly with you or any of the Mississippi Gang at any time because this group of guys knows how to fly AND spot. I've flown with Dennis and Vernon at events for over a decade. At jet meets you don't know what nimrod(s) you may be flying with. Your experience level may be waaaaay higher than the fellow pilots around you. As said before, communication is the key.
Jeez, David, you have a short memory!!! Whining??? Wasn't it you and the other guys from the Mississippi Gang that made the comment about not flying when this particular person was in the air?!?! It was y'all that made the comment and frankly, I agreed. Let us know when you get over your Alzheimer's....
Dave Shulman hit the nail on the head!!! This is EXACTLY how I feel about 3D jet flying. Like you said, David R., flying in just a race track pattern IS boring. Do your thang all you want but don't infringe on others....I didn't say that you were infringing on others. This comment was not directed toward you...Neither were my previous posts if you took them that way.

After going to meets where guys are flying 3D, I've gotta say that its all about communication, and common courtesy. If your up with 1 or 2 guys, and they don't mind you hovering, flipping around down low (out of there way), its not a big deal. I'd only feel comfortable if I knew the other pilots and discussed it with them prior to flying in that manner.
At events, to really do some 3D stuff, you'd have to be up by yourself, or fly up higher or lower to stay out of the way of the others.
Whenever there's 3+ people flying, forget it, it's not worth it (doing 3D).
As for the midair at superman, I was calling for the Maverick pilot, and by the time I finished saying "watch out", they hit. The closure rate is unreal with the jets.

Awww what a hack..... the Mississippi Gang has to re teach him how to fly every time we get around him. Heck he won't even show up at our event he's so skeered of us showing him up.

Hey David,
WOW! I'm offended, you don't want to fly when I'm flying??
LOL Whats up with that?
I know, I know, you only feel comfortable around the bleachers and stuff! ha ha!
Guess I'll get my Alpha trainer out this weekend and get practicing, or better yet, my G2 with the KingCat!!
See you at FIJR? on Sunday at least, if your going.
Later,
David
