Thanx Matt,
I will email GreatNorthern and see what i can get ....
Im trying to set up a sliding gear door on a project and need to slide the door 5". ...
brg,
Wojtek
Do you have room to use a shorter ram running thru a lever? Where the ram is at one end, the sliding door is at the other and the pivot point is closer to the ram by what ever amount you need to get the 5" movement. Just a thought.

thought about something similar, but i just dont have the room .. another option for me would be to mount 2 cylinders togetehr, a 1" one and a 4" one with output arms on oposite arms ... If GreatNorthern can not get me a 5" cylinder, i will use the 2 together instead ..
going back to the lever, it would have to be quite big at a 5" radius on the long arm, and this also would not be a linear motion .,..
thanx guys !

how about a servo drive? using a landing gear servo (hitec HS-75BB).. the output shaft connected to a threaded rod abuot 6" long. nut on shaft is connected to what you need to move. The stops have to be removed from the outputshaft as well as removing the feedback pot. now the servo can spin the shaft...trip dogs~linkage at end of travel will operate the the feedback pot.
