Default Hey all

Hey all: I was checking out Terry's website (great place) and got some questions. BTW I did not try any of these. My first is what ever happened to the RAV8OR plane. The one that was low cost and looked good for grass fields. Are they out yet and where do you find them. My second one what are your thoughts on using the third generation type turbine oils. The low coking ones (BP and Shell). The third is when I was at some of the rally's it struck me that most of the time the guys always had there hatches off when they started their turbines. Given that what are your thoughts of using propane and a gas grill regulator as the starting gas. I can get Coleman's here but at the moment it's out of stock everywhere because the camping guys got there first. (and I don't want to pay haz mat shipping charges). Seems one could simplify the gas system removing the on board tank which has been of concern to some, the plumbing and such. I know I would rather be holding the jet during startups. The P120 is on the Roo now and it's running like a bear!! One weird thing that happened is I had an A3 glow plug blow in such a way that the ECU did not notice it. It shorted deep inside the plug, still sort of connected but the glow was deep inside so the gas would not catch. New plug and presto worked fine.
It just don't get any better. If I ever get my camcorder back from the shop (a month now) Ill get some video up somewhere. Looking at this years rally's and the budget I see Quinte, Liberty Bell, and perhaps Superman. Maybe something in Ohio. Best Bkf

Ken,

The Hazmat fee is not that bad. I ordered three cases from coleman and only paid $15 per case in hazmat fees. Fact is at the store shelf you are still paying the hazmat fees.

Default Hey all

I think you mean the AV8OR from PCM.
Don't know, his web site sounded like it s/b out soon.
It's from Pat Curry models.
I just did a search and found it.
I think it would be a great grass/small field plane.
