Default maybe a chance to start

I folks,

I am totaly new in turbine world, but experimented modeler.
Last year I bought a roo kit(sales) . My roo was waiting that I win lottery to buy a jetcat p120.
But I found this
http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=10798

I could afford the cost of this turbine, but is that a reliable one. This will be my first turbine experience and I don't want to be discouraged or disapointed due to difficult to operate engine.

I wait now since 5 years to begin with turbines I could wait a little more to obtain a better engine

give me your opinion please

WAIT........... and the reason i say, and here is where i will get slammed, but look for a jet catp80. i am like you, i8 just bought my kangaroo, "composite-arf" and found a used jetcat, almost bought a new sim jet which is not a bad choice either, but i found one used, from chris huhn, sent him cash, he sent it directly to "jetcat" the upgraded the ecu to 4.9. threw in a screen and bench ran it to make sure everything is the way it issupposed to be, got the motor at a good price, and the service for the p80 was under 35.00.... ups will deliver it to me on thursday, the got it last week, so what i am saying the service is tops in my book, and they are great people with great people skills.

as always just my 2 cents

mark

Here's the problem....
This engine is not listed under AMA doc 519 "Production Turbine Engines Accepted by AMA" which means if you plan to operate this engine at a "AMA" field, you cant.... Good price, just not for most in the states []

Moreover, 850 $ is a VERY good price, given the exchange rates !

850 $ seems too cheap IMHO. Be careful...

Well its not a bad buy just cant use it here if its not in the AMA Doc but over were you are it should be fine to use. the only down fall is that it is old technology and to up grade it you will probably be in for the same amout as a new one so your choice, it will work for your application. Also keep in mind there will be a load to carry to the field to start this turbine.
