RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video
Hey Jlmaviation, See post 1528. It shows the last email from Vaclav regarding delivery of orders 64 to 68.
No 67 hasn't arrived yet. It's nearly 4 months now, but the way I look at it is........
If I bought all the raw materials 4 months ago, gave myself 4 months holiday and worked night and day to build the L39, would I have finished yet? ........ Easy answer I would still be looking at the plan right now trying to work out where to start.
So for a hand built, made to order model, to the standard Vaclav builds them. It's worth the wait. I admire anyone who can sustain his work rate.
I'll let you all know with a pic when mine arrives

Hi, I'm number 78 and have not heard anything yet either.
I was told by Vaclav via email that I should expect the plane in 3 to 3.5 months.
As I just hit the 3 month mark I'm hoping to see it soon.
Best of luck and let me know if you hear anything from anyone else on the
waiting list.

Thanks I think I may have the MW44 converted. Do you have to send back the ECU, GSU etc to be converted too?
What do you think of the Boomerang Intro? Looks a good flier and very different to the L39

Just got my copy of RC Jet International. The second part of the Savex/Wren 44 article is completed. This is a great combo and is going to change small scale turbine ops. at your local field. That being said, I've decided to let all this nonsense sort itself out and install my brand new Wren 44 in a JHH A-4 Skyhawk. Perhaps the savex will happen down the road, or someone ,God forbid, will use all the fabrication and manufacturing technology available today to make a "44" size ARF here in the States. Meanwhile everyone just moved up one space.

I am getting ready to start building my Jet Hangar FJ-3 Fury(Navy Version of the Sabre) And I am very tempted to keep the NIB OS 46VX and Turbax II and Pipe in the cabinet and install an MW44 in the plane. I have seen Larry's Fury fly with the Wren 54 and it flat out moved. I will probably run the piston engine ducted fan and save tne cash for a larger turbine but I agree it is tempting for me to buy a turbine in the Fury.[:-]

You will need a new ECU and battery as well as the starter motor conversion. The use of gas and fuel valves is optional The pump and ithe the GSU are the same.
I am sure the baby Boomerang will do very well, but I have a second L39 coming soon ! My first flew, still flies, so well I cannot imagine any airframe bettering it, and it looks scale !

David Gladwin
PS Started my Skymaster Hawk yesterday, nearly finished it already !

David, I was just looking at the T-45 version of the Skymaster Hawk and it sure was nice looking[:-] I really like the new Super Hornet that they are bringing out. Did you get your Hawk with flaps and ailerons? I am just going to builf my Fury and fly it till I can land it with my eyes closed and then I am going to look for a 91 size ducted fan since I have two brand new OS 91VF's I should use at least one so I will probably build a JHH Phantom and then get their new F4D Skyray and put a Wren 54 in it. In the meantime I have tons of warbirds and electric ducted fans to build and fly along with my glow fans.
Why would I need a new GSU and ECU in the Fury you can open the hatch and start the Wren with the hand held starter. I will need the starter for the Skyray/

Guys,
Here are updated pictures from my plane.
Thrust tube is removable from the back (3 screws to remove on the legs).
Tanks are removable from the canopy.
The rest is well known of everyone.
If you need comments or details, let me know.

All I have left to do, is fix the batteries in the nose
and do the servo leads to connect the wing servos to the receiver.
The plane comes out with CG 90mm behind the leading edge.
I'll put it on the scale tomorrow. Seems very light to me.

Thanks guys...
Since I'm moving to the south of France this week end,
the maiden flight will be postponed... I'll keep you up.
I hope to finish the plane within days anyway.
I'll be flying it on the same spot as the airbus A380...

Yan, your L39 is Sweet you really did a nice job building the plane and installing the MW44. If the plane does come out at 8.5 pounds thats going to weight less than my JHH Fury with an OS 46VX and Turbax 5" fan. I am really itching to put an MW44 in my Fury that I am building click on the Blue Fury that Larry is holding http://www.jethangar.com/ I have one NIB but as I said the I have all the ducted fan equipmet for it already but it fly's sweet with the 44 check out the video. I have seen a Fury/Sabre flown with a Wren 54 a couple of years back and it was fast[X(] The 44 is much more scale looking inflight but still has plenty of power.

Viper21,
I'm glad you like my work.
I have seen that plane already.
I'm considering any JHH airframe as a potential futur plane for my MW44.
I've seen the movie. Very impressive.

RE: L39/Wren 44 Pics and video
I am extremely tempted to make the step up to turbines and spent pretty much my whole morning yesterday reading through this thread. I feel I am a pretty competent sport/pattern flyer but have never flown a turbine. Would this combination (L39 / Wren 44) be within my "limits" and would it really be ok to operate from a medium size grass strip? No-one else at my club flies turbines so I would have to learn about the operation etc. of a turbine for myself first hand (with the help of all the great posts at RCU ofcourse!). What additional items will I require (considering I currently have all the support gear for piston based aircraft only). Our patch can sometimes be quite tight to get into (tree's etc..) so I guess ordering with flaps and rudder is a must?
I think I will just go ahead and order the kit because if I decided months down the line (3-4 month waiting list for kit anyway) not to go turbine I could probably sell the aircraft without losing too much (if anything) on the purchase price due to the demand.
Thanks.
