Default another KingCat VS RealFlight G2 thread ....

Since its been cold and snowy be my, i only get to fly the sim durring these months ... While playing around with the KC in G2, i came across a new manouver that I am dying to try in the spring when my KC is ready ... Has anyone with the KingCat alreayd tried this ? will it work on the real one ? check out the G2 vid link (copy to the "recordings" directory under the realflight folder in "program files" and open by using the "recordings" option in G2 ...

[link=http://www.voy-tech.net/files/kc.rec]KC G2 recording[/link]

durring the mid part of the video, note the rolling snap-rolls ...

Whats the trick to making it play?
1. Wiwanczyk needs to post his recording on the Realflight Web site, or somewhere it can be downloaded.
2. After the file is downloaded and placed in the Realflight "recordings" folder, it will run properly.. only within the Realflight G2 program. It may also be necessary to have the volume 5 add-ons installed, not sure!

Knife edge software is extremely proprietary, and as far as I know there is no other way to view a recording outside the Realflight world.

PS I modified the Realflight KingCat to be more realistic, the default version will do some maneuvers that I believe the real KC won't do.... my 2 cents

I seriously doubt that is possible. The first part of the snap I have seen David do, but the plane runs out of inertia and thrust after a few snaps. Having it snap continuously without losing altitude would be a pretty tall order for a plane with this mass, at relatively low airspeed, without propblast over the control surfaces and without vectored thrust.

It's an awesome plane, but those snapping maneuvers I would think are reserved for .40 size fun fly planes.

David S. or David R. feel free to jump in and tell me I am wrong.

i found that to do the snaping circles, i needed to simulate the thrust of a P160 (which i will be using the the real KC as well), and to alternate the rudder input to variable "push" the flying surface (wing/fuse) into the air (for lift) .... I can not even come close to doing this with any other 40 sized or other aerobatic airplane on the sim nor in real life .... I will definately be trying this when the weather is good and the KC is ready .. ...
for those that got the video to work in G2, go to view --> gadgets --> radio .. this will show you the stick inputs to maintain this manouver ... hey, if anything , at least its fun on the sim ..
