The JetCat derelicts sneak to get a peak at the new rig over at the AMT tent. This thing even has a kitchenette in it (no kidding).
Boy they must sell a lot of motors to get one of these! We were just happy that we got to rent an Explorer this time!
Always great to hang with these guys.

Jose Martinez and his EDF Mirage that flew very well. This was the second year for this plane at FL Jets. Also pics of his Bob-E-Cat and Mig-25 that also flew well and gave a good representation of electric ducted fan jets.

Rob Janiger and Tom Dodgen are grinning ear to ear after a GREAT formation routine at the half time show on Sunday. There must have been 20 KingCats there.
Rob is loving his KingCat, and Tommy was helping so many folks with their airplanes. He and Jason were hard at work with the buddy boxes all weekend. The new rules are great!

And finally, on a more somber note.....
It is always sad to see someone down and out on their luck We found this homeless gentleman wandering in the parking lot of our hotel at 6:30 am Sunday. We took him to Waffle House and gave him a lift. He rested peacefully most of the day.

The ever stoic John Redman after his emergency room trip.

Turned out John was pretty sick and did not know it. He does not complain so he pushed on through the event, but the heat and humidity took its toll. A few hours in emergency and a grocery bag of antibiotics and he was back with us.

IMHO this was the best scale plane at the meet. No offense intended to the F-100s, it is just I love that F-5 shape.

Mr Matt,
Thanks for the reply, is there any dealer for the F-5 in the U.S. ?

Not sure. We used to bring them in but more as a personal favor for customers. We did get one for a customer, I can tell you they are awesome. I would say contact Peter and see what he says.

I have not flown a jet since Superman. If you do not get one flight in between Superman and Florida, you are doing something wrong!!

I would like to Thank everyone for your comments and for my awards. Although I usually build all of my aircraft and do the scale paint/detailing, There is one guy who over the years has pretty much painted all the base coats on my ships. I would like to share my award and give an official Thankyou to Eddie Selva! I would also like to Thank Greg the "missile man" for building me two scale AIM 9's. Because of my work schedule these days I literally had to work round the clock on the F-5 till the wee hours of the morning whenever I had days off to come down to Florida. A lot of that time Eddie would help me out by letting me use his garage/paint equipment etc.
Thanks guys!

I have received a ton of e'mails about the F-5 and I cannot answer them all at this time so I will try to give a brief summary about the aircraft. I purchased the jet back in November from Don Kanak (Planes Plus) at the Florida International Jet Rally. Don currently imports the kit from Peter Libetrau. I put one very interesting flight on the F-5 at that time. I then decided to completely redo the jet. Everything was taken out and put back in an order that i'm familiar with. I then flew the "re-done" version at Florida Jets this week for the first time. I made several modifications which i would be happy to discuss with anyone who ends up with one. I still have a lot of scale detail to do but, at this time the jet is flyable. The stats are as follows:
110" long (9 feet)
Wingspan is 54" 58" with missiles
Takeoff weight is 47 pounds
Currently carrying 1 1/2 gallons of Jet A for a flight time of Approximately 12 minutes
Power is a single JetCat P160
JR-10X with all JR digitals
Tam's pipe and Nozzles
