Advantages of the new Hitec digital servos:
1) GUARANTEED UNBREAKABLE GEAR TRAIN. We do not sell gear sets for our digital servos. If, for some reason, your gears break or strip, we will repair them for free.
2) GOLD PLATED CONNECTORS. This is a must.
3) CORELESS MOTORS (On 9 series) Precision coreless motors help enhance resolution and increase performance.
4) DIGITAL/PROGRAMMABLE (NOT A MATCHBOX). Know one else offer this flexibility for any servo.
5) UP TO 594 IN.OZ OF HOLDING POWER. That is not bad for a standard size $90 dollar servo.
6) TWO YEAR WARRANTY. Most hassle free service department in the industry.
7) SERVICE IN POWAY, CA. This is nice for locals. he he
8) ONE WEEK TURN AROUND ON ANY HITEC REPAIR. Literally one week.
9) 30% LESS EXPENSIVE THAN ANY OTHER DIGITAL SERVO. I am not sure how many people still believe in value!
Disadvantages of the new Hitec digital servos
1) I haven't found any yet. Sorry
2) Please feel free to share any disadvantages you may have come across with the new Hitec digital servos. I am honestly searching for ANY valid feedback from jet modelers using the new digitals, weather the feedback is good or bad.

Hitec does not offer a radio comparable to the JR 10X yet. We will be releasing the Eclipse 7 Q-PCM late this year, but the eclipse only has 7 channels.
I spoke with the owner of Hitec during his visit last month about working on a possible new 9-10 channel high end system. He agreed that Hitec will eventually offer a system of that caliber. All in due time!
I hope this helps answer your question!

That revenge plane looks pretty cool! What power unit and undercarriage does it use?? How much?? When would they be available? I'm sure I'm not the only one interested.
Thanks
Dustin

I'd like to offer my experience with the HiTec service department .
Very positive, fast turn around, damaged parts were returned.
We had a situation on one of our GS Extra's that resulted in a vertical down line to an almost pulled it out pancake ground slapping/landing. Six HiTec 5945's were installed in the stabs for the elevators. All were damaged by the impact. I suspect the damage was caused by the instant reaction to something similar to slapping your hand down onto mother earth, not very forgiving... This combined with the weight of the elevators caused serious damage to all six servos.
I sent the servos to Hitec's service center explaining the cause. I received all of the servo's repaired at no charge within two weeks from the date they left my hands.
No Charge I was amazed....... Still em. We literally blew these servos up. Broken cases, gears, one motor, one amplifier, case tops with pin supports blown out all them destroyed by the user no fault of the MFG...
JR's 8411's are very good servos, unfortunately for me anyway they have been very expensive to maintain. On numerous occasions I have sent all of mine [100 plus] in for service. It always cost me money... Irregardless of fault. Horizon has warranted some of the repairs, but there seems to be a fine line between when and why they choose to do this... Crash damage no question your gonna pay for it at least $30.00 a servo if the gear train is damaged and more... Pins come loose in the caps, coreless motor's seem rather frail, gear train slop is rather evident as well, gears have a tendency to strip on the small in/output gear from bumping or shocking a surface.
For the jet's I'd recommend the 8411SA's for simple reason that they offer much better resolution due to the lack of gear train slop. Additionally they will last much longer for the same reason. As far as strength goes nylon gears were use with the venerable 4131 and 4721's without issue... Of course things are different now in the turbine arena and it's possible the nylon gears are no longer up to the task, however I doubt it. Properly setup control systems, surfaces and balancing of the surfaces were possible are/would be the key to success.

Make the radio at least 10 channels. Even better, make it 12 channels and own the high end radio business.

i guess when you get a rep as big as mine for being as super awesomely clever and ultra-funny as moi, your reputation precedes you.
