Default f-18 single CG

12" seems pretty far up from the trailing edge, is anyone flying the single at this CG? I would like to move it back about an inch, but need to have some input from someone already flying one (YA F-18 single)

I don't understand why you would want to move the CG towards the rear. When the instructions say to put it at 12" I usually put it at 12 1/4". Why does 12" seem so far forward to you? The guy that wrote those instructions has sold a ton of the singles and he knows what it takes to make them fly properly. I have heard that some people are flying the single at 11 1/2" but why play with fire? I have owned a couple of these birds and they flew beautifully at 12 1/4" - 12 1/2". Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Kenny, I didn't mean to second guess you, I just wanted to know if anyone was flying it further back.

Thanks
Frank

I’ve owned and flown 3 Y/A F-18 (DF versions), and FWIW, make sure you check the CG with the gears retracted.

No problem, second guessing is good. It may mean the difference of a second flight or not.
