Default Has anyone seen the Merlin 160 ?

Just noticed this new engine mentioned in the product announcement forum (yeah - I know some of you adamantly refuse to look outside of the jets forum for anything at all, but that's your loss ).

Has anyone seen one ? If so, d'ya have any comments, comparisons, etc to offer up ? Wonder how their kero-start option compares to Andre's...

Hello

Yes, I have seen it and flown it...

Can't compare to a BMT, haven't seen any. On the web page you have a couple of videos taken at Mallorca Jets, one of a early kero start sequence, now it starts better.

PM me at [email protected] for any questions.

I saw it at Malorca jets. It is superb and does not require an electricity sub station to vaporise the fuel for starting like the artes one also shown at that meeting needs. On the Merlin the fuel is atomised using a cleaver device in the engine. It runs at just over 600 deg at full power and is in the same size and thrust class as the JetCat P160. It only flew in gas start version at the jet meet because the kero start was only conceived the Sunday before.
