TGA Mig29 (DF) - Finally Finished
Finally finished (and flew) my TGA Mig29 DF. I say finally, because this is one of their original kits that I bought about 5 years ago and did not get around to starting until a few months ago. It flew great, the only slight problem was on takeoff. Climbout was shallower than I would have liked ....even with full up elevator. I used the throw they recommended (3/4 " up and down). It may have been a bit too hose heavy and/or I may have needed more throw. (these are easy fixes) This a great flying airplane. Thanks to all who provided tips and answers to my postings over the last few months. Bob

Bob,
Congratulations, nice looking Mig. I have a TGA F-15 that I purchase about 3 years ago that I never finished. Will be selling it soon to help fund my 2nd turbine jet.

If you followed the instructions for the CG, then it will be a bit nose heavy. BUT that is much better than a tail heavy bird. I have found you need all the up elevator you can get. Especially on a dead stick landing! LOL
Lookin' good, Have fun.

Hey congrats on your Mig.Looks great. Listen to what Terry says about the cg and elevator throws. You cant have to much up elevator on this puppy. This is a great yank and bank jet and slows down so pretty for landings. I actually snapped the spar in flight and she kept flying. What fan ar eyou usiing?

Yes, I would say it was easy to build as long as you have some experience building RC planes. There is plenty of help/info available on this forum for the TGA jets, so if you have a question/problem, it is easy to get advice/help. The most time consuming part was the glassing of the wings and tail surfaces (not difficult .... just a bit time consuming).
As far as the fan/engine .... it is the Byron setup with the OS91. Instead of the dual saddle tanks, I am using a 24 oz main tank and a 4 oz hopper tank. Bob

Bob,
Do you have any photos of your 24 oz tank set-up? I am not happy with my saddle tanks. I have to solve my tank problem and install my nose gear and servo. Then it's time to light it up and go flyin'.
Thanks Bob.
