Albert-My RAM 750 #212f has an early converted electric start system that I understand has been upgraded. My 750 runs great but when starting the solinoid/clutch is beginning to screech a bit. Could you send me the upgraded component please?

Hi Ron,
I believe Albert is out for a few days. There is a replaceable O-ring on the bendix starter that may need replacing. You should be able to pull it off and get it matched at your local hdwe store or O-ring/Seal store. Also, have you tried cleaning the O-ring? If I remember right, RAM suggests a cotton swab with denatured alcohol applied to the mating surfaces. I always thought alcohol would tend to dry up the rubber O-ring eventually. Nonetheless it should keep you going a bit longer till the O-ring gets replaced.

The O-rings are black rubber and they are 10mm. You put a little CA on the grove side and press it into the slot on a tabletop. You can get the rings from Ram.
