Ok Guys…. Need some opinions here. I am just finishing up an installation (gut and reinstall …..) on a customers SM F-15. Having no install experience with RAM/T engines I am a bit concerned about the pipe/engine install. Usually, with a jetcat install I set the nozzle separation to the bellmouth at ½” for max thrust and pipe cooling. As you can see below, I have the engine about as far forward as I can and the nozzle still enters the pipe about ½ to ¾” The pipe is actually sticking further out the fuse at this setting than I would prefer. The question is….. Since the nozzle is about twice as long on this engine, can I slide the pipe up further? Leave it as is….Or, should this setup have the same pipe/bellmouth clearance I am used to with Jetcat???

Hi Todd,
I've been flying mine with a RAM 1000 with close to 80 flights. I think you will be fine the way it is (in the picture). I originally flew mine like this for a dozen or so flights but eventually moved the engine forward to where the nozzle was even to 1/8" forward (out) of the bellmouth. The way I had to do it was that tail pipe was as back as it will go (flush with the FG cones in the back) and dremeled out the center seam (inside the inlets) to almost nothing and slide the engine all the way forward.
I believe this is the best setting and the plane really comes alive.
Hope this helps.
