Default Using PPG Omni Colors with PPG DBC 8000 Acrylic Enamels

Hi guys. My Bobcat has been primed with PPG K-36. In the 'Cat manual it states that the builder should apply a thin coat of white paint as a base coat before colors are applied. I'll be using the Omni line. My question is do y'all think it is ok to use DBC 8000 Acrylic Enamel as the base coat if I'm using Omni colors? Todd, I PM'd you regarding this. Thanks alot everyone!

Default DP48LF

Hi Todd. Is the DP48LF Sandable? I like to wet sand with 600 grit before I actually apply colors. Thanks for the info!

Spencer,
Yes, it is sandable but suggest you give it a good 3 hours minimum to cure before sanding. I have found that if the base primer coat is prepped to a point where I would be ready to apply color then spray a light coat of the DP48LF there is no need to sand it before applying the color. It lays on very smooth. I have also found that the DP48LF helps stop the shrinkage of the resin avoiding wood grain showing up down the road. Good stuff!

I am far from a paint expert but have found a system that works for me when using Omni paints. I have PM'ed you my phone # if you have any further questions and would like to talk.
Todd
