Default What not to do

Ever have one of those day's when everything goes wrong and you say you just shouldn't fly. Today was one of those. I go out to meet JohnVH and some other flying friends and leave the house, drive 2 hrs and forgot the wings. Drive back home, head back to the field and oops traffic everywhere. 6 hrs after leaving to get wings I return to field.

After some minor engine issue's we get ready for the madien flight.

Roll the throttle on
watch it accelerate
back elevator
nose off
mains off
plane starts to roll right
give left alerion
rolls more right giving more left
right wing hits
plance bounces down then up
rolls inverted and skids to a stop.

Damage - mainly cosmetic but need a new canopy and a new nose strut.

post-mortem: Failed to do a full pre-flight on controls. Left means left and right means right and up is up down is down.

Alerions where reversed. As it rolled right and I gave left alerions it rolls faster to the right.....UUGGGG!!!

Yeah that's about right. I figure it will take me about 10-15 hours to fix what I screwed up since it' s mostly cosmetic. But I do have to build up the wing tips where they where sanded down a little by the run way. My goal is to try again on 10 Aug 02 if not then it iwll be the following weekend. I would like to get a full flight in prior to JOW.
