JR 10x question on snap roll button

I don't know what it is about my transmitter, but when I go to progam say program mix 2 and I do an Aux 3 to Aux 3 mix and then I go and set it to activate by snap roll button and then I make sure I'm on master/norm and then I go to the percentage travel page of the mix and hit the snap roll button, the "pos" shown as 0 / 1 when I hit the snap roll button does not change.
But if I set it to work of the flap switch, it does change the "pos" from 0 to 1 back and forth just fine.
From the information above can anyone tell me why this does not work? When I do the aux 3 mix deal am I supposed to activate or inhibit the snap roll function? I activated it and set the snap roll percentages all to 0 and I did the opposite as well.
I have had this problem for years and have no idea how to make it to where it works right.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Tom: I have followed your instructions to a T that you gave me last year and it's just not working. I even put a servo on Aux three so I could see things happening instead of an electronic valve and I'm having no luck with this switch position change when hitting the button.

It has to do with your offset value, and the position of your aux 3 slider. The offset value has to be set to correspond with how you want the mix to work.

Heck with it, I just mixed in a down elevator application of brakes and that works fine. Now I can set brakes either on the slider or with down elevator if the gear are down. All seems to work perfect this way.
Thanks guys, and if you have any idea to the original question that would be great.

It's a very un natural movement for me with down elevator. I guess it's like anything you get used to it. I know there are many out there that use it.
I left the right slider active for brakes for parking etc.
I mixed the least amount of braking I could add to the down elevator and test it out see how I like it.
Probably won't fly till this thursday.
Sure wish my snap roll button worked for this though. Every switch except that one works fine. Guess after this season I'll just send it in and have it looked at.

If you are using a Jetronic New Style Valve(the small cubic, metallic finished one) it is very simple.....forget my old instructions.....that was for UP-6 or Smooth Stop......with the Jetronic electronic valves, their software sets the offset automatically......Following is the setup I used on my KingCat with Jetronic Brake Valve.....
1. Go to menu 17....be sure Aux 3 is ACT
2. Set up a new mix.....I always use Aux 3(right slider).......Aux 3-Aux 3.....go to Page 2 and activate Snap Roll Button...back to Page 1....set 0 offset, then 0 % up and down with Snap Roll button NOT depressed and Right slider in OFF position of your choice, this becomes POS 0.....with Snap roll Button depressed and Right Slider still in OFF position, this becomes(POS 1), set upper 0% and Lower to -100%(actually anything above about 50% will work with the Jettronic software) the Jetronic Valve software will accept a broad range of pulse widths.....
3. Now you are ready to set the Valve itself.....first , with RX on, click the small valve button 5X to clear the software.....then with Snap Roll button not depressed and Right Slider in the OFF position, depress the small button 1X......then with Snap Roll Button depressed and Right Slider still in OFF position, depress the valve button 2X.....and you are done......moving the slide to full ON or depressing the Snap Roll button should activate the valve......the little red light on the valve comes on when the valve is in the brakes ON position
If you want to use proportional settings on the JetTronic, then you have to go to the instructions and set the the minimal and maxium brake points using 3X and 4X pushing of the little brake button.....I personally have never done that......
As far as using brakes on elevator, I have in the past on other planes, but with a Bandit, the drill to stop a Kangaroo Hop on landing is UP elevator and brakes......never back off the elevator until almost dead stopped, unless you want to replace bent struts and fix wingtip and stab scuffs.....
