HELP NEED STAINLESS PIPE

Why do you need a stainless pipe for a ducted fan? you'll have better luck with a glass pipe, both for weight, and for the area ruled ducting. trying to get a nice tight seal in the duct work with a stainless pipe will not be easy, and you won't find an area ruled duct in stainless.

Yes that is exactly what has happened, it has melted down twice, the airplane that it is in is a government peice (experimental UAV) the ducting of the thrust is completly diffrent than anyone here has been exposed to due to the patients on the design, basicly in generic terms the bypas of the thrust blows through a plenum and vectors through the center wing of the aircraft, it exhaust out the trailing edge of the center wing, the plenum was designed so that the exhaust is not in the airflow exiting the wing, this is due to the fact that I can not have any heated exhaust coming out. (GOVERMENT, does not want any type of heat generated behind the bird due to STEALTH TEC.) anyhow I cant keep this pipe from melting down because it is not in the airflow. does that help any? Thanks Chris

Hi Chris
This might sound like a dumb question, but if the exhaust can't exit the rear of the aircraft, whre does it go?
I have an idea that might help, but need to know the above answer.

A few years back Sig sold a pipe just for the Rossi that would take the heat I tried one and it worked. I don't know if they still sell Rossi stuff or not, but you can give then a call.

Chris,
You may want to check with Bruce at http://www.centuryjet.com/ CJM used to carry a large volume pipe specifically for the Rossi 105, but I don't know if they still stock them.
