Hi Ronnie,
thanks. That sounds great. Very promising. How did you do it? Do you have a building description of it? How'd you seal the tank? or did you put a tank inside the tank? And how is it attached to the fuselage? I mean, it is quite some weight that is being jerked around during flight. must have some solid, strong fixture. Still detachable? Anyhow - if you have pictures, drawings, anything on it, I'd appreciate it very much... Cheers, Martin

The Details tank is not too hard to install, it actually is a tank inside a tank. If I was thinking I would have taken a few pix when installing it. As far as mounting it I remember making a 1/4 ply plate and hysoling it to the inside bottom of my fuse, then taking some carbon rod and drilling through the tank pylon and fuse/plate hysoling that in, so it aint going anywhere, its permanent. I remember having to assemble the tank itself, it is a 2 piece tank, you figure out your plumbing and then hysol them together. Also hysoled a vent tube into the top where the indentation is, The hoses actually run through the middle of the pylon. The outer cover did take some work to get smoothed up, but all the work was worth it. The outer cover tank has a removable nose you put some silicone on the front of the main tank, then slide the nose on, let it setup. It can be worked loose, I also have two small screws that hold the nose on just to be sure.
here is a pic of the tank setup.

I painted this one a few years ago, center tank is a functional fuel tank, I used an old F18 tank and cut it apart rebuilding it to hold fuel, flies forever! The Maple Leaf on rudder was temporary joke, it's a Japanese scheme and I haven't bumped into another like it yet.
