RE: Lets see your scale F-15 !!
This is an old thread but still a good one. I'm back at building this Y/A kit and I'm just about done with a variable inlet ramps mod.
Just have to get the rigging done for the ramps so I can move on to the rest of this project.
when you guys post pics it would be good to know what paint you used for your schemes.

Hi Russell,
Nice pics of the F15. The flight metal looks great as does the cockpit. Is this your F15?
My paint was simply automotive acrylic with a 2-pac clear over the top.
Regards,
Craig.

Here´s my Avonds Eagle. Built using the oldstyle twin DF kit, only fg parts purchased, the rest homemade inclusive KJ66 turbine, scale gear and turkey feathers. First flight spring 1999, still fun to fly @ 500+ sorties.

Gerald

Hi all,
Here is my scale F15, was going to be a good scale scheme but I couldn't get decent photos off the scheme so now my F15 is the only one belonging to the Welsh airforce (still some more painting to be done but couldn't wait to fly it). It's a converted D/F with Jetcat 120 power.

Hi Craig,
Yes, this is my F15. Saw its first flight at the Adelaide jet meet in 2004 after which I completed all of the paint, flite metal and decal detailing. Unfortunately I need to do some repair to the flitemetal underneath as I had a maingear lockup at Wangaratta and landed nosewheel only on the bitumen. But I guess thats all part of the game!

I thought I would stick my SM F15 on. Merlin 160 power and home made smoke system. Yellow scale retracts full ordnance and working sequenced doors. fly,s great and the vertical has to be seen to believed.

RE: Lets see your scale F-15 !!
I had the very first F-15 produced by Philip Avonds back in 1986. Being his first customer, he invited me for dinner at his house when I picked up the kit, kinda cool to think about now. It was powered by K&B 7.5's in Turbax fans and weighed a scant 7 kilos. The airplane flew great, but the engines were a nightmare. I later sold it, it was flown at Florida Jets by Per Strommen, suffered some damage, and was again sold in the US. Maybe it's rebuilt and alive somewhere that side of the Atlantic? I'll try and find some pictures to post here.

Here is my F15 from Avonds
Inside is our new engine, Hawk 100R, with 10,5 kg of thrust. The fuel consumption is very low with an average of 93 g/min. [8D]
The model is flying 10,5 minutes on 1,6 liter of fuel with a total engine time of 14 minutes.
The model carries 2,3 liters of fuel at maximum TOW. of 11kg. If it´s fueled up to 2,3 liters it will fly for 15 minutes without any problem.[X(]
