Default Another Skymaster Hawk Video

I have just updated the videos on my site with a new hawk video.
Still the same old Uk weather of total overcast, although this flight was filmed just as it was getting dark (Notice the lights on in the distance)
I have also put a few other videos on. Of interest to you jet guys may be the Mig 29 or L-39 flights.
Thanks to Steve King for his filming and editing

Ali

I just watched the Mig 29 wow that was awesome.

Hey tell me something it always looks to me like you just set maximum linkage control movement on all your control surfaces.

I have seen you fly for the past several years and time and again the control surfaces deflect way to much when your testing them on the ground for stock setups. Do you just limit there movement when airborne with your magical fingers?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Take Care

Thanks guys.
Robert:
I fly around the Uk mainly. I have done a few shows in Europe and been to Florida jets twice before. I hope to go to the next one in March.
The Mig Video was taken at a UK jet event called Classic jets. This is the Uk's largset event and is held 3-4 times a year with around 60 pilots attending. No spectators just jets and their pilots. Quite a bit different to what most people expect.
Flyjets:
I do like lots of movement. I do a little 3d prop flying and I just got used to lots of travel and high expo and just dont go near the ends of the sticks. Also I like to keep all ATV's at 100%-100% with as straight a linkage as possible. Also not a big fan of rate switches. Again the 3d stuff just got me used to living without them, and now I hate having to flick switches.
I think it looks a lot worse because my videos always seem to show all flying stabs which do have a hell of a lot of visual movement anyway.

Volkan Hi,
I do remember you from Sandown. It would be nice if you could come through onto the flightline sometimes. The only problem is that usally they only assign a pilot one helpers badge and this I give to one of the guys that will call for me when I am flying.

Next outing for us is RAF Bentwaters on the 19th of december then Abingdon on the 29th.
Smashed models. So far on the jet front I have only lost one totally and that was my bandit earlier in the year which locked out and hit the deck. I try not to remeber the crashes. I much prefer the flying part.
I am a member of 9 clubs at present. Most around the south east of England.

I have just updated my web site with a low quality F-5 video that we did last week end.

F-5 video is exellent too!

You are realy good at managing speed. The F-5 seems to fly nice and slow too.

No it's just that I am not very good at flying fast

The F-5 really surprised me at how docile and happy it was at slow speeds. I looked at it first time I flew it and it scared me. I am not usally a fan of jets with no wings (Bad times with F-104) But no need to worry. The flight on the video is only the 4th flight I have had with this model so i am still getting used to it but I am sure I can throw it around a whole load more in flights to come.

Asia,
The TX settings are pretty straight forward. 100% Atv all all throws with 30% Expo. The only bit of mixing is flap to elevator mix on both models. The hawk needs careful flap set up to get a nice approach. The hawk knife edges totally and I mean totally clean. I can go horizon to horizon knife edge with just half throttle and half rudder stick. No mixing aileron or elevator.
Thanks Nony and flying arrow. You are welcome any time but if you pull up a chair at anywhere I fly at the moment you would freeze solid.

Perhaps, winds direction has eliminated the mixing needs!
thanks for infor.

Ali,
Please post how you set up the control throws, servo selection etc. for your Hawk. Us future Hawk flyers would like to have ours fly as nice as yours. Hope to see my Red Arrow Hawk in about 3 weeks. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
