Default Do I need a heat Shield for this installation?

This is a DRACO trainer jet. The engine exhaust seems extremely close to the wood areas. Do I need heat shield here? Moreover, what can be used as a heat shield instead of BVM heat shield. I live in India and getting the BVM product will take some time. I would like to use a substitute for the moment, if any.

Anurag,
You could make a heat shield from .0008 inch (very thin) aluminium. As long as your getting some airflow over the alu you will be fine.

Ya, aluminum tape comes to mind. Also, wood is a very poor conductor of heat, and you are far below the temperature for it to combust via temperature. I think you'll be fine, it will get hot, but not "too" hot. But if I was in a pinch, aluminum tape would be my choice.
