Servo setup meter

Folks,
I know servo setup meters have been discussed, but after doing a search I couldn't find what I had read before. Does anyone recommend a meter of some sort that I could use on the bench to set up control linkages, control surfaces, and servos to identify binding or other bad things that may draw excessive battery power?
I am using a 6volt system with both digital and analog servos
Thanks.

This thing is awesome, you can set up the throw on each servo by the exact pulse width, then take all of those numbers and set up the TX to match before you even put the plane together for the first time....nice
